Tulsi failed to speak for herself!
She hasn’t yet seen Mihir stray, hasn’t even been given a whiff of something along those lines happening.
Right now all she knows is her husband is extremely angry at her for her refusal to believe that their daughter was abused by her ex husband and in-laws, for her giving a statement in court that was against her. She knows her husband is angry at her because she has not approved of Ranvijay, and worse the girl who was brought in to expose him ended up turning on her and proving her a liar. With Angad there’s a misunderstanding about Tulsi having helped him elope and the anger regarding her keeping things to herself for 2 days though he forgot conveniently that he was the one avoiding her and didn’t wish to speak to her.
In all of this she sees him as an angry father and husband rather than a philandering one. So how is she supposed to speak up in this regard? Also she has tried to tell Mihir but is he listening? No. Has she been able to prove one person or one piece of evidence that makes Mihir know she’s not been misinformed or doing these things because she has made up her mind and reached her conclusions based on something that no one else sees or knows about. No again.
So right now Mihir simply sees Tulsi as someone who is repeatedly making huge mistakes and jeopardising their children’s lives and futures. She is being cornered by her own daughter as well who is helping an outsider against her and inciting her father against her mother.
I don’t see how Tulsi is seen as not standing up and speaking for herself despite Mihir repeatedly yelling at her and expecting her to apologise and fall in line with whatever is happening. She’s sticking to her guns, she has not once apologised and said I made a mistake so forgive me. She has not once stopped trying to make Mihir see that Ranvijay is wrong for their daughter and still wants to expose him. She has not once backed off from her stances on anything.
The only thing is Mihir is loud - he is screaming and yelling at her any chance he gets when be thinks she’s going to do something that he may not like. But is she shrinking away from him? Hiding or cowering in fear? She stands there and takes it all.
She is not shrinking herself away but neither is she shrieking at the top of her lungs at him which is the difference. But then again that has been the case forever. Even in the previous season we never saw Tulsi being all hysterical and yelling at the top of her lungs at anyone. She was as composed as could be even when she was absolutely radiating with rage and fury. She was never a character that went loud is better.
Even yesterday she didn’t lose her composure and start screaming at Mihir in a public place and airing their dirty laundry there by accusing him of avoiding her and not wanting to talk with her giving her no chance to inform him about the situation going on with Angad, Vrinda and Mittali.
I am not sure what exactly is it that she’s supposed to do here that makes it seem like she’s not a doormat. Yell at Mihir? Scream? Probably give him a slap? Something else? Again that won’t solve the problems because it will establish nothing beyond more anger, bitterness and resentment.
How exactly are you supposed to stand up for yourself in a situation like this when the source of the entire conflict is the blind love your husband has for your children and he can’t see their actions for what they are blinded by that very love for his daughter or the humiliation, hurt and betrayal he feels when it comes to the son who disappears on his wedding day and marries another girl after getting engaged to the one your husband picked for him and moreover gave the choice to said son to accept or reject the same proposal.
Tulsi is not fighting against an evil man out there to hurt her and her family with pure malice and hatred in his heart for them. She is fighting against the man she loves, for the children they BOTH love… where they are having disagreements about what is right or wrong for them. These arguments are big and ugly because they’re not about dad wanting to dress his princess in a pink frock he bought while mum wants her to wear the white one nani gave as a gift for her birthday or a fight about letting their son pursue sports if he’s not good at studies for a career where one parent feels it’s fine and the other thinks it’s a risk that can be a bad bet.
These arguments are about whom their children are getting married to and how those people and their families in turn will treat their children in the future. Mihir is believing his child’s words over everything else and Tulsi is able to see past her love for her child because she has learned the hard way with Ansh how when a parent is blinded by love for their child they can make such monumental mistakes that they will regret and repent it forever but can never erase history or forgive themselves for it.
Mihir is doing today what Tulsi did when it came to Ansh V/S Karan. She lived to repent it and so will he. At no point during those arguments either did Tulsi resort to yelling incessantly nor did Mihir say he would divorce her just because she’s not seeing that Karan is not an evil person.
