Anunay Sood’s death under investigation, Las Vegas police provide early clarification

Indian travel creator Anunay Sood’s sudden death in the United States has left many questions that police are still working through. The 32 year old influencer, known for his travel photography and a following of over one million on Instagram, passed away on November 6, 2025, at the Wynn Las Vegas Hotel. His death stunned followers and creators across platforms, and now a fresh update has emerged from the authorities.

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department issued a brief note on their response. According to the statement, officers were called to the 3100 block of South Las Vegas Boulevard after a body was discovered inside a hotel room. The department said, “LVMPD responded to a dead body located in the 3100 block of South Las Vegas Boulevard. Officers assisted the coroner and took a non-criminal/medical report.”

While the official cause of death has not been confirmed yet, several media outlets have reported that narcotics were found inside the hotel room. These early details have led investigators to consider the possibility of a drug overdose, though no conclusion has been reached.

Anunay had travelled to the United States to attend the Las Vegas Concours 2025, a well known car showcase. Just days before his passing, he had shared posts from the event, showing his usual enthusiasm for travel and experiences.

Reports suggest he was staying at the hotel with a woman, who told police they had purchased cocaine on the casino floor at around four in the morning. The two allegedly consumed the substance before going to sleep. About an hour later, she woke up and found Anunay unresponsive. Detectives reportedly recovered a bag with an unknown white substance from the room. However, authorities have not confirmed what the substance was, nor have they issued any findings on its role in the case.

The toxicology report, which will play a crucial part in establishing what happened, is still awaited. These tests usually take time, and officials have not given a timeline for their release. For now, the investigation remains open as family members, friends and followers continue to grieve his loss.
