Dhurandhar trailer: Deepika hails Ranveer as ‘chameleon’; Priyanka, Zoya and others impressed

The trailer of Aditya Dhar’s upcoming film, Dhurandhar, launched in Mumbai on Tuesday, has captured attention not just from fans but also from Bollywood celebrities. The film stars Ranveer Singh, Sanjay Dutt, Akshaye Khanna, R Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, Sara Arjun, and Rakesh Bedi and revolves around the life of an undercover agent.

Ranveer shared the trailer on his Instagram, writing, “This time……it’s personal. #DhurandharTrailer Out Now! (Link in bio). In Cinemas 5th December.” His wife, Deepika Padukone, praised his performance, commenting, “‘The Chameleon’ is back!!!” followed by fire emojis. Priyanka Chopra reacted with a “Woah” and a blast emoji, while filmmaker Zoya Akhtar wrote, “Boom,” with smiling and blast emojis. Aditya Dhar’s wife, Yami Gautam, also left fire emojis, and other stars including Aparshakti Khurana, Bhumi Pednekar, Maheep Kapoor, and Mouni Roy expressed admiration for the trailer.

Dhurandhar is written, directed, and co-produced by Aditya Dhar, and produced alongside Jyoti Deshpande and Lokesh Dhar under the banners Jio Studios and B62 Studios. Ranveer’s character name has not been revealed, but the trailer suggests he plays a RAW agent. Sanjay Dutt portrays SP Chaudhary Aslam, Akshaye Khanna plays Rehman Dakait, R Madhavan takes on Intelligence officer Ajay Sanyal, and Arjun Rampal features as Major Iqbal from ISI. The film was officially launched in 2024 and is scheduled for a theatrical release on December 5.

At the trailer launch, Ranveer spoke about the project, saying, “It is an insane trailer. I’m proud to be part of this movie. I’m happy to be part of something where we are trying to push for something more, take our cinema to the world, it is India’s moment on the world stage, and we want to be at the centre of it, and represent Indian cinema on the global stage.”

The Dhurandhar trailer highlights high-octane action sequences and intense performances, hinting at a story that combines espionage and drama, drawing interest from both audiences and industry insiders ahead of its December release.
