True and you see the tv audience doesnt give a F if GK and Tanya are fighting, or whoever is fighting, they may like 2-3 contestants at once and give each of them a vote for all they care.

I feel like those type of contestants like in BB13 and before just dont seem to entirely work for BB anymore. Those tasks dont happen probably due to the latest batch not wanting to get hurt during tasks.

He never got to use his privilege - so they used him for extra masala. I feel makers were fully okay with ashnoor or abhishek going. That or they want ashnoor to stay because maybe she is pulling in a lot of audience? I mean its hard to say, they may just think this 'twist' is exciting. Point is if they didnt want him to leave, cancel karte eviction.
