Not powerful as an antagonist but too boring or tedious as an anti hero as the redemptive arc is based on such a poor premise… the knowledge of being a blood relative being a trigger for change… I know they may plan this as a way for Aviraj getting close to the kid and building some kind of bond but irrespective of anything the actual change is the discovery of being a father that is supposed to bring change in the character. For me that’s the weak link!!

The issue isn’t about choosing a negative role. So many actors choose to take up the antagonist role but Aviraj isn’t the antagonist but neither is he anti hero ( a rebel with a cause kinda) Aviraj is too pedestrian a character for anyone to feel anything significant.

As for the acting, while i haven’t seen much to comment, of the couple of clips i sense Krushal trying too hard for impact with his voice modulation but since there is no theatre around his character, that throw in his voice lands flat…or hollow!!

Yeah Rekha dii...foundation itself is hollow .. there’s no emotional or psychological logic driving Aviraj's supposed transformation. “Oh, he suddenly feels fatherly affection, so he’s redeemed now” is lazy writing at its peak. There’s no moral reckoning, no internal struggle, no process of earning redemption - just an arbitrary trigger designed to evoke sympathy.

And you’re right, Aviraj exists in this confusing gray area where he’s neither a menacing antagonist nor a layered antihero. He lacks ideology, depth, and purpose , basically the things that make such roles memorable. That’s why we feel nothing.

As for Krushal, yes.. the effort is visible, and that’s the problem. We can see him trying to act instead of feeling the moment. His voice modulation and intense delivery worked as Aniruddha because the writing gave him something to believe in. Here, it just feels performative because there’s no emotional grounding. The “throw” is there, but the thought behind it is missing ..

With child actors, the best co-stars usually loosen up, letting the kid take the emotional lead .. something Krushal doesn’t seem instinctively good at yet.

May be I am biased but actor who have a more natural nurturing aura would be Kunal in Nbtnmkk like Mohan with Nanhi, addu and Rimjhim in Na Bole Tum is some of the best and layered complex dynamic and it all felt organic, not forced..

And Krushal is capable of improving...i expect him to improve..that's what learning and working on the craft is all about..but iske liye basic awareness and reality check is necessary, something that Krushal doesn't seem to have at this point 🤣

If he admits this truth, I will understand him..coz I am the same! Bachhe dekhte hi savdhaan mode pe ajaati hun! 😂😂

Really? If he was unable to relate with those scenes, then why pick another project about playing father to a 10 year old? 🤷‍♀️😂

No, fact is that it’s not about relating. It is more about his super delusion and overconfidence that he can convincingly play anything given to him. You are dead wrong, Mr. Ahuja 😂. Audience ain’t blind or obliged to buy your misplaced bravado 🤪😂

The issue is even if he is not comfortable around kids in real,it should not reflect on screen if his character is supposed to have a scene of warmth and tenderness with a kid.. That's what acting and playing a character is all about.. when you are able to portray something that you don't relate to in real, but can empathize with your character

LoL...AYji, imv, he didn't even ponder upon the point that he will play a father to a 10 year old girl! His entire focus was playing a UP ka gunda, which used to be his dream role! 🤣 Uske liye baap banna pade to ki honda!! 😂😂 Actually Jhanak experience has given him this overconfidence to some extent. He has seen how fans kept watching and appreciating him even if the story went nowhere logical. He thought he would get the same response in case of Bindii. But the point of difference he did not reflect on much was the initial build up which used to be relatable in Jhanak and then age approriateness also played some role.

Bang on analysis, Asmita. lol since you brought up Kunal, it’s worth noting that before NBT, he played an extremely negative character in Pratigya. He was nervous about working with kids in NBT but he pulled it off so well and naturally which showed HIS caliber as an actor. And obviously it helped that the script was tailored to him and he had fab child actors to work with.

Still, Kunal is a natural actor. Krushal is nowhere in that league yet despite how puffed up he seems to be about his abilities smiley36….koi introspection karna nahin hai and back to back baap roles pakad ke baitha haismiley29. He thinks people can’t see through his stiff acting cuz his fangirls keep pumping him up making him think he’s God of acting? Oh please 🙄😂

And you still have so much hopes from Krushal improving on himself. lol he’s not some 20 year old newbie flying high after his first acting project. He’s done a bunch of shows and is 30+ now. Toh aur kitna time lagega akkal aane ko and to grow up? 🤡😂
