Don’t know who is the stylist this season but last time around it was Nim Sood, Ekta’s aunt - at least officially. Nandini was also essentially the female lead of the show for the second generation, so her character was reasonably given a better budget by the styling department. This season she’s basically a recurring cameo and I genuinely think most of the budget is spent on paying Smriti alone let alone the rest of the cast because if the reported numbers are accurate that difference is not minor by any stretch of the imagination; it’s continents apart in a way. Hiten and Gauri themselves are getting paid as much for a cameo appearance every time they land to shoot as Amar is, and he’s a series regular. So budget has to be compromised somewhere and that’s why the clothes this season are not good even with Tulsi. I remember her sarees, sarees worn by Kashish, Prerna and Parvati would be a rage, Parvati’s especially peaked in her Janki Devi phase but no such rage is seen now. The blue saree Tulsi wore in the title song when the show had a generation leap was practically seen everywhere. Kashish also inspired so many young women with her dresses and accessories, but you won’t find one such popular character onscreen today.

yup.

Janki devi, komolika and Prerna's modern era were the peak of itv fashion for me.

I like tulsi in earlier episodes as she looked really pretty in simple sarees and jewellery.

Komolika’s Bindis, accessories particularly her earrings and sarees were a rage… the blouse styles would have an average mum and dad enraged if you so much as appeared to be inspired by her smiley36

Intereresting topic. Believe it or not, this weekend I saw Noyna's sarees - that black and white (triangle border) and similar red ones displayed outside in a local market in Mumbai. Was pleasantly surprised. Those days it was the norm and it was such a craze.

Interesting. Well, if sarees get popular then it’s actually a good news for the show; regardless of the shade of the character whose sarees they’re.
