Family finances are managed by women even now.. after the World War Two, times have changed, women too started going for work. No separate trains for commutation because they believe in gender equality. But are given priority for pregnant women and mothers with toddlers everywhere else.. And the movement you are referring was started by a woman, I too support it. Heels and heavy makeup is not required everywhere you work, moreover the amount of walking you do from home to office through public transport is very tough. You have walk minimum of 15 mins just to come out of a station. So women walk with comfortable footwear and carry heels to work.

Overall, women in Japan rules the house, and now ruling the nation too 😉. I guess you got my point 😊
