I'm not saying everyone. But it's well known the expectations on Japanese women are harsh. Since it seems you live in Japan so you'll know well of the expectation they have of women. Heels and makeup, which later turned into protest to try to make it less stern. You'll known they don't have seperate trains for progressive nature. You definitely can see the good side but I hope you can accept the bad side.
Edit: hold on. I never denied they dressed , I said harsh expections is on them to.
I donât understand whose expectations are you quoting here.. may be from the west in your opinion?? .. but the harsh reality is women from the olden days rules the family, and men are so workaholic that they prefer to stay in office to make sure the work is done for the day rather than returning homes to their wife and children. Family finances are managed by women even now.. after the World War Two, times have changed, women too started going for work. No separate trains for commutation because they believe in gender equality. But are given priority for pregnant women and mothers with toddlers everywhere else.. And the movement you are referring was started by a woman, I too support it. Heels and heavy makeup is not required everywhere you work, moreover the amount of walking you do from home to office through public transport is very tough. You have walk minimum of 15 mins just to come out of a station. So women walk with comfortable footwear and carry heels to work.
Overall, women in Japan rules the house, and now ruling the nation too đ. I guess you got my point đ
