The creative head of Balaji Telefilms seems to have a knack of getting embroiled in controversies. If Ekta Kapoor isn't making headlines with her alleged bullying behaviour towards her unit members, she is busy settling tiffs with writers or directors.
She recently made news with allegations that a leading television channel had stolen her idea for a reality show. The show titled Ek Se Badhkar Ek launched recently and, since then, Ekta has alleged the concept is the same as one she had earlier discussed with the channel. Apparently, she had discussed the show with the channel and received a go-ahead. However, differences cropped up and the channel decided to carry on with the show, only with a different creative head.
The show is to have one star singer and one star dancer participating as a team. Not surprisingly, the star participants seemed ignorant about the controversy. Who would want to annoy Ekta anyway? Ravi Kishen, the Bhojpuri star anchoring the show, said, "I am usually busy shooting. I didn't read anything about it." Abhishek Awasthi, better known as Rakhi Sawant's boyfriend, and also a participant in the show, said, "How do I comment on something I don't know anything about?"
