Can you really blame Filmfare though? The ultimate winner isn’t just about acting, it’s a mix of popularity and performance. That’s why they gave it to Deepika for a moderate hit like Piku over Kangana, who had an Attb. Alia’s that rare kind of superstar who actually has the talent to back it up. Who else was even in the running this year, honestly? Last year they overhyped Rani’s mediocre performance just to drag Alia, and even that weak attempt isn’t there this time. The funniest part is Abhishek winning in the popular category, but no one wants to talk about that. Alia gets people talking.

To me, it seems to showcase Alia's wish to get what she wants to get...especially after two attempts in her young years failed to manifest. Does she really care about substance?

Except of two films after Dear Zindagi (= Raazi and Darlings), I genuinely doubt - in her professional and known private life (and Raazi was elevated by the pairing with Vicky and Darlings by the ensemble cast)... my feeling tells me: it's all for show... but not the way it makes people happy (beside her fans, of course).

It is also strange that it had been Gangubai where I liked the vision SLB had about the character but couldn't connect to Alia's performance wholeheartedly although she acted well...but exactly that, I felt it as acting (like I so often do with Aamir's kind of acting). So, I completely got this 'doing an act' also in Jigra.

But that's me, just my personal perception...I would not like to judge about the way she got the last three best actress awards (among them the one this time) because all opinions are - more or less - based on assumptions... I just did not understand why she had to act like she did (in Jigra).

Kajol's win for K3G and Alia for Rocky Rani was worse.

How does it matter even if it tanks?? Alia is now buying awards for flop films and Jitesh is okay with it. So one more incoming for Alpha next year even if it flops.

Seriously I didn’t even bother to watch Alia’s first movie in theaters I was too busy with other things even highway not interested that time ; but when I saw highway, my first reaction wow she gonna go places only one who caught my eyes after begum . then only started following; her posts on insta used to be fun, girly , teenager wasn’t aggressive, harsh OTT , simple , that’s my take

What exactly is alias competition -

Kriti (who is inconsistent and has no clout except a relationship with maddock),

Kiara (who never really carried a female centric film), parineeti (whose acting actually went worse and worse as the years passed by),

Shraddha (who dosent bring anything to a film apart from her prettiness and good dancing skills…and maybe some box office clout with the aashiqi saiyaaara fanbase)

Rashmika (who is again inconsistent despite an amazing run the box office…horrendously bad sometimes and decent some other times) ,

Sanaya (consistent and good but always saddled with smaller roles or OTT releases like mrs , paglait which don’t make it to filmfare best actress consideration) ,

Deepika (dosent seem to really churn out best actress performances after not being slbs chosen one anymore …now she’s become srk’s chosen one and those 15 - 20 min roles aren’t really going to get her a best actress…the odd chappak and gehraaiyan which aren’t really great to begin with isn’t doing her much favours either)

Vidya , kareena, tabu, Rani consistently do films but they are out of the rat race per se …not chasing films or anything really …

Add to this kjos “imma directly forward every good script that comes my way to alia coz thats at how it works” crap will ensure she will keep winning filmfares

The conditions have really lent themselves to alia on a platter

We need a female actor who can shake things up and give a proper takkar in terms of acting , box office, drive and power
