a) Because I’m announcing this in the middle of the night IST and no one will even see the announcement till morning

B) because it’s not like at the start of the game when all rows/ lines were open for everyone, you guys still have claimed 4 and the others aren’t starting with everything up for grabs.

I understand but how is that fair? It’s not our fault we’re competitive and everyone from the team is communicating and participating with enthusiasm.

it’s not just about communication- it’s about giving y’all a head start when it shouldn’t have happened in a game that is all about who gets there first. I should have thought of another way since you guys have one team member less - this wasn’t the right way.

Not taking away anything from your team’s strategy or enthusiasm or the fact that you are coordinating well. I just don’t want the other teams to fall behind just cos the time factor is so important in this game. Your strategy can still get you ahead. I can see you are being smart and reading books that are shorter (since there is no requirement of page count) and grabbing lines that are overlapping with tasks that are already done. I just want to erase the time advantage that you got at the start since this game is all about time.

Alright. Do we at least get the claims we made for Row #2 and the other diagonal?

Honestly, we would rather have a rematch if everyone thinks the 12 hour advantage is the only factor that caused this. I would have done much more reading if the starting time was 8 PM rather than 8 AM (on a weekday no less).

In fact, let's do thi - Jo humne claim kiya hai already (diagonals, red and 2nd row)... wo bhi agar kal 12 noon tak koi aur claim karleta hai... to consider it a tie and either nullify or count for both teams. Ho gaya na fair?

Regarding your statement about no one reading your announcement rn... again... not our fault. Most of our team members are from India but practically everyone is up and active rn.. abhi rematch bolo to bhi turant kaam pe lagne ke liye ready hai. Dusre teams equally enthusiastic nahi hai ye hamari galti nahi. Over-achieving ki bhi punishment milti hai yaha ye pata nahi tha smiley18

I'll be frank... you are so convinced ki ye sab tumhari galti hai... and that you need to correct it somehow... so you are not willing to consider that it's just a chance event that our team got such good members. Agar maan lo 8 members mein hume bhi 1-2 unresponsive mil jate.. and you had not made any allowances for us (like the headstart) tab ulta you would have felt guilty ki members kam the and you didn't make any special accommodations for that. It could have gone any way really.. you did what you thought was best initially... and even further changed a couple of things as required. Baaki ab tumhare haath mein nahi ki kaunsi team kaisa karegi... perhaps accepting that might help you make better decisions that are actually fair to everyone.

As it stands... we will wait till 8 PM IST... and maybe consider this an open challenge for the other teams.. jitna ho sake claim karlo tab tak. Bcz we are gonna hit you with a barrage of claims afterwards. We are not planning to slow down with our reading despite this hiccup... and ab iske baad bhi agar hum jeete to koi complain nahi kar sakta about unfair advantages.

See it's really simple - and not just about being convinced that I'm wrong. Just look at it logically - this game is all about who gets there first. And let's say another team (not yours) had the head start, what would you say to that then?

Again I will say - All I'm doing is leveling the playing field.

It's possible that your team may still win cos you all have the best strategy & are the most co-ordinated which is what Bingo is actually about. Toh phir kahe ka darr? The other teams may still fail to get there despite your team being put on hold. But not doing that and then your team winning and everyone saying that you won because you had the time advantage? Wouldn't you rather win fair and square with the best strategy?

This won't be fair because other teams will still be doing these tasks whereas your team would be racing ahead to claim others.

@Bold If I had a problem with it, I would say so right when it was announced... before the challenge actually starts and the team starts claiming achievements using the benefit given to them. Uske baad complain karna is bad sportsmanspirit and feels like a case of sour grapes. Not that anyone has actually complained against this mind you... mujhe koi ek bhi post nahi dikhi kisi ki bhi.. jaha unko laga ho ki unke saath unfair hua and hume advantage dena galat tha. So I'm sorry for assuming that it's all in your head.. but until I find actual proof of people complaining.... it feels like that to me. The fact is that you (and probably a lot other people) expected ki Bingo aaram se pura mahina chalega.. but ended up against a team of competitive people who checked off half the card within 16-18 hours. Agar utna koi aur team karke dikhaye (16-18 hours from their starting point) to pata chal jayega... fair hai ya unfair.

Initially kisi ne kuch nahi kaha tha about the headstart... which means everyone agreed that it was a fair compensation for having one member less. How it turned out is not is not in anyone's hand.. and most people seem to be accepting that and focusing on their own reading. Also note that we have slow readers in our team too.. agar kisi ko jeetne ka itna man hai to hamara assigned task list front page par hai. Research karke wo bhi to target kar sakte hai na... jo pata hai ki hamara jaldi nahi ho payega? Instead of putting handicaps for us, the other teams need to step up their game if they really plan to compete.

At first it was the fact that fast readers of our team were swallowing up the tasks of slower readers. Jab uska clarification diya to it switched to how other teams had to wait for unresponsive members. Fir aaya 12 hr advantage par.... then daytime and nighttime. Next shayad aayegi ki we used discord to communicate isliye jaldi ho gai strategy planning.. and sticking to IF is what made others slow. Dhundne ho to 100 bahane mil jate hai... but the fact stands that the BIngo challenge was meant to motivate everyone to read faster and work together in groups. Very counter-productive to keep putting obstacles for the team that actually does it.

Nevertheless.. I won't waste more time arguing. It's better we both utilize this time and energy to read more for our respective teams. Good luck 🍀

We did suggest a rematch too. Fresh books for each task... same starting point. Abhi sirf 3 din gaye hai mahine ke... it could be done again. But it would probably be too much extra work for you... trying to reorganize everything... and we understand that you're already overburdened. Isliye jane do ab... jo hai so hai... kal milenge 8 PM (I mean aaj hi technically🤔).
