yeah i also heard that the expected time frame is 12 years or something...i mean, good change from watching b-wood cringe and south movies unless they are extraordinary or good in executionOriginally posted by: Vibhishna

but still wondering whether with passing time, will all this become saturated or not ? as ppl have little to zero expectations from the mythological genre even if turns out to be success or bomb at the BO..
Mytho genre from a decent production house is far better than fanciful nonsense on TV...
Unfortunately Indian movie production houses retain some bad habits, specifically three:
1. Making everything seems like Hollywood level - we need not show their style, we have our own, and that style hasn't made it into Indian animation films till date. Hollywood style worked well for Ayalan but... Other movies... Not that well...
2. The horrible habit of using every legend possible for a story - sometimes it's nice to watch... For example, a scene in Mahavatar Narasimha between Lord Vishnu and Prahalada was so like a snippet of Dhruva's story but added a nice touch to the movie... Other times it's just a force fit that's like a sore spot...
3. Over the top heroism... When on Earth is Indian cinema going to let this go... It's OK for some films but not mytho genre...
mahavtar narsimha had certain humanizing aspects inculcated too ...this made the scenes especially post intermission more tolerable even though cgi was too clean at timesOriginally posted by: Vibhishna

like you said, the ott heroism is too indigestible..its okay to have some flaws..
regarding ayalan, cgi work was pretty decent especially with the character "tattoo" but there was overacting which made the movie a one time watch so not surprised..

Humanising aspects? Which parts were they?
Ayalan was a good venture. Loved the science fi genre and it was too much Holywood coded but for that story I guess that was acceptable... I can't think of how else it can presented as of now but maybe with research, there can be something... As for the rest... I suppose it was personal style of presentation...
By the way, have you watched the movie Hanuman? Second part was also announced.
Since there hasn't been one so far, creating a seperate thread for discussing the episodes. Not mentioning the date so that we can discuss any...
