Nothing unusual. In the beginning, MIL (at least most of them) like their daughter-in-laws and then they start to have problems. In my relatives the same happens. Every time a new bahu come, all sing praises until about a year and so when they start to hate her and all fights start. Misogyny make women turn one against one another. Same with Jaya, Aishwarya, Rani, etc. All have been victims of misogyny and have turned against one another in order to survive.

Even Sunil Shetty commented about his daughter s delivery.

Initially AB sr and Ash were very cordial even at public events. He used to post about her also.

When they stay together there will be clashes with the way the grandparents are with the grandchildren and the way parents wants to bring them up.

But the good thing is that they r together when it comes to their daughter at school events etc.

There seems to be a lot of truth in what you write...at least it is similar to what I got to know (about Aish's pregnancy problems and Jaya's choice for Amitji and her portray by Karan in K3G and RARKPK). I think, her life with Amitji made her the bitter person she became. It is very understandable to me that it was only the women of her blood-line in the podcast (which I didn't follow, btw.).

I think that Jaya was happy for Abhishek (and Aish certainly was adorable - and happy, too - at that time)... but the public appearances clearly showed who was the 'lead' in this family and to whom Aish turned as the most important person in this family... not a very healthy beginning of a family life on the same compound...

Oh, you're the first here going into this thought-process (which, btw, makes a lot of sense - at least to me). In addition to her father's death, she got more estranged to her brother & family. I was happy that she made her - until now - last work with Mani Ratnam with whom she made her first movie (a bit like a circle now).

There also seems to have happened a positive change in her married life...Abhishek seems much more comfortable to have turned to less mainstream movies where he can show his acting talent and they try to live a couple life...at least as parents to 13-year-old Aaradhya

There is Jaya’s father’s account of his relationship with Amitabh and how he perceived him as a person. There r so many misconceptions about AB Sr. and he is maligned so much for no reason. Jaya’s father dispels all rumours of him being unhappy with the alliance and gives the true picture.

One thing I agree, in terms of marriage Rani made the wiser choice and so did Katrina. Rani got the YRF empire, and Ash got toxic saasural. Alia is the next Ash I swear, she also shows aankhei and tevar after grabbing Ranbir, atleast Abhishek was better than Ranbir I guess

This makes me agree with you. My best friend got married last year, before marriage this mother in law and the family promised that they will let my friend and her husband live separately, however after a year of marriage the parents in law still living with my friend and her husband, not only that there is no privacy for the married couple, my friend also have to forcibly work in kitchen sometimes even if she does not want to, and also pose like a nice bahu in front of her mother in law's friends.

But why r u measuring successful women's like rani and Aishwarya's success in terms of the man they married. Both must be having enormous wealth themselves they don't even need their husband's money.

Even for Aditya Chopra there has been many rumours like he is gay or he has multiple affairs with actresses he casts. Rani also has to attend functions alone as he doesn't like mixing with ppl.

His parents too didn't liked rani. She was accused of breaking his marriage
