But he's just a CID officer and not a secret agent who got tbe mission to take out these sleeper cells.....plus the blatant whitewashing is what's making everyone mad.

Hi everyone!

I have been using India Forums since 2021. I'm primarily a lurker. I've made a few very good friends here and am part of some very supportive communities, though I cannot be as active as I'd like to be. I know I'm completely new to this forum, but I have been an avid CID watcher since 2011. I'd like to add a comment here today about something that has been on my mind for a long time (long rant incoming). I'm NOT bashing the actors -- they have been a huge part of my life and I have nothing but love and respect for them. These are my opinions on the characters.

1. ACP Sir and Daya are extremely toxic towards Abhijeet. I don't understand how Daya, who claims to be Abhijeet's best friend and his brother-in-arms, is so quick to raise very offensive, hurtful questions about Abhijeet's mental acumen. In an earlier episode titled 'Senior Inspector Abhijeet', Daya's then-girlfriend accused Abhijeet of having killed her brother years back. Daya later asked Abhijeet in an extremely skeptical tone as to whether Abhijeet's memory loss is genuine (and Daya is arguable the closest witness of what Abhijeet went through after he lost his memory) and whether he was simply pretending to have forgotten his past so he could claim he hadn't killed Daya's girlfriend's brother. In the recent tracks, after ACP Sir's supposed death, his FIRST instinct was to suspect his lifelong friend and to conspire against him with ACP Ayushman. It was freaking Pankaj who defended Abhijeet then.
ACP Sir also is extremely quick to blame and penalize Abhijeet whenever anything goes wrong. The vitriol directed towards Abhijeet whenever he's been suspected of anything is disguised under labels like impartiality and discipline, yet the same ACP Pradyuman is extremely protective of Daya. I'd argue that any time Daya is in danger/ missing/ under suspicion, ACP Sir loses his cool, then begins to drag Abhijeet's name through the mud, but when it is Abhijeet in need of help, they aren't so quick to rise to his defence.

2. If Abhijeet's memory loss (and now the split personality business) is considered a hindrance, why was he allowed to rejoin CID at all? Wouldn't it have been kinder to let him go instead of throwing his injuries and his disability (because permanent memory loss IS a disability) in his face time and again? It was ACP Pradyuman who gently encouraged Abhijeet to rejoin CID in 'The Case of the Stolen Dynamite', but given the way they treat Abhijeet whenever he is in a vulnerable position, it feels like they brought him back not as a decorated officer who made sacrifices in the line of duty but as a scapegoat and a punching back.

3. I was under the impression that the axiom 'innocent until proven guilty' applies to every Indian citizen. Are CID officers exempt from it? The only time I recall ACP Pradyuman actually doing something to get Abhijeet out of his predicament was hiring KD Pathak to fight for him in 'Adaalat', season 1 episode 3.

4. Both Daya and Abhijeet are fond of parroting that ACP Pradyuman taught them that duty supersedes all relations and emotions. Abhijeet is guilty of violating this to some extent (for example, he'd go against orders and jump in to help Daya), but what on earth is up with Daya and his selective amnesia where this is concerned? He had no problems suspecting and interrogating (very roughly, I might add) Abhijeet, Purvi and Pankaj, but he seems to blindly trust Shreya and keep her above all suspicion. Shreya does not seem to hold the same regard for Daya. Even in season 1 Daya-Shreya felt like a very one-sided relationship.

4. I deeply admire ACP Pradyuman's character for putting duty and justice above the life of even his own son. But that does NOT give him the right to act holier-than-thou and arrogant with his officers when they do not act the way he likes. I remember he blamed Abhijeet for leaving Daya in the sinking submarine in season 1, as if Daya is a child with no agency of his own. and He is a strict leader , yes, and perhaps a very good leader, but I don't think he is a fair one at all.

5. Abhijeet, Pankaj and Purvi deserve a better team. A more compassionate one where bullying and bossy behaviour do not pass for professionalism. I know it isn't going to happen, but I'd really like an arc in the show where Abhijeet looks for a transfer to a different department and actually goes through with it; working with his new team, he begins to realise that his admiration and his love for his former team had blinded him to the areas where they could do with improvement.

These are simply my opinions. They aren't as well-written as I'd like because I've had a long day, but I just wanted to get them off my chest.

This is actually a well written opinion and I agree with all of it

I would really like your opinion on ep 243 and 244 case of the frame up where Sudhakr gets framed and almost everyone in the team treats him worse like how Abhijeet gets treated in the points you have mentioned......Abhijeet has been trapped in far worse situations before and after this arc and no one lost their cool like him in this ep (atleast in the first 400 episodes)

There's a paticular scene where Freddy is hesitant to break into Sudhakar's house to gather evidence against him and Abhijeet admonishes him for it and when Aditi breaks into Abhijeet's house to gather evidence in case of the haunted house Abhijeet and Daya do not like it

It's just subtle bullying of the juniors

Also i would like your views on Abhijeet and Daya's treatment of Daksh ; he was a male version of Devyana's character who was kind of scared of gross looking corpses and thinks too much before firing a gun....they took digs at his appearances and commented on him being a weakling like "CID mein aagaya NCC" and stuff like that

Okay so about the weird behaviour part you mentioned....how about considering the fact that even Daya was behaving weird the first few episodes of this track...and all the team mates were still on his side

No matter how much SOS suspected him...everyone was backing Daya....inta support to bhai Abhijeet ko bhi nahi mila kabhi....literally the whole team is bent on saving Daya

So I wouldn't agree with that part of yours

More than this current track they had played with his character in that track they had given no reason why he behaved the way he behaved it was not only behaviour but him believing gargi and ayushman over his own team was way out of box he had no good reason to trust them

I agree with the part about bullying juniors. They're always very quick to jump to conclusions and do not give the accused officer a chance to explain. Since you mentioned Freddy, I'd like to take a moment to remember his character. He was a kind, gentle soul, and he always stood up for his fellow officers. I remember he and Sachin once went to the forensic lab to help find evidence to prove Officer Vineet, a quiet junior officer, not guilty. Freddy had also been hesitant to search Abhijeet's house in Abhijeet's absence, just like he'd been unwilling in the case of Sudhakar. There was a quiet dignity in the way he stood up for the people he believed in (and he stood up for everybody, not just a selective few).

I haven't watched the Sudhakar episodes you mentioned. I'll definitely watch them when I'm free. With regards to Daksh, I've watched multiple episodes because I'm a huge fan of Manav Gohil. I know Daksh was proved to be traitor at the end of his arc (he was killed probably because Manav wanted to leave the show), but he had simply been a CID officer before that. I always got the impression that Abhijeet and Daya kept him at arm's length. He worked and tried to get on well with the others, but he was always kept at a distance and, as you mentioned, they were often very dismissive of him. I felt very bad for him. The only strict but fair person who actually understood Daksh was Dr Anjalika, the stern forensic doctor.

I also remember Daksh looking for his missing brother and it was one of his primary motivations behind joining CID.

By repeatedly showing, proving and letting his actions speak for themselves he's earned that place of complete faith and respect from his colleagues. He'd do anything for his country, his uniform and his duty as a cop but he won't ever do anything that'll put CID's reputation to shame. His morals and ethics are unquestionable and gold standard for other officers. He gets to question others because they know he's not doing it out of any personal khunnas or equation or malice but only out of his sense of duty .

Yes he questioned Abhijeet , but Abhijeet was behaving rather oddly ,can this be denied ?? People were questioning Anshuman over flipping coins and burning of a pic , such trivial things and yet is it hard to accept that Abhijeet was behaving very suspiciously ?? Infact, many questions are not yet answered. What was that whole 🦋 thing ??

Daya also apologized for doubting him later.

He can be hot headed but he's also extremely loyal, pure hearted and dedicated to his work to a fault. He's no family of his own. CID team is his family. Abhijeet uska bhai, Abhijeet ki beti uski beti. But his team mates know that if there comes a time when he's to choose between them and his duty , he'll choose his duty eyes closed . And that's exactly what earns their trust and respect. They know Daya won't ever do anything wrong in regards to his duty. If he's killed those officers then there must be solid ground behind it . He could be allotted to carry out the mission to remove those sleep cells with extreme prejudice. Viewers should let the story unfold properly with time.

I never got the whole butterfly business myself. I was waiting for them to clear it up but they left it unexplained like many other things about the Eye Gang business. I hope it is brought up in a later episode.

I don't doubt Daya's dedication to his duty, but I'd argue the others have gone way above and beyond for their duty, too. Daya isn't an exception in that regard, but the others are called into question much more frequently than he is. And Abhjeet has been as loyal to Daya -- if not more -- as Daya has been to him. Abhijeet had no family, either, until he adopted his daughter Shreya.

If he gets to question others because it is a given he'll do it out of his sense of duty, why does it not apply to the other officers? Would pick on another colleague because of personal vengeance? And why trust ACP Ayushman and Dr. Gargi over people you have known for 20+ years?

I've always felt bad for Daksh....there was no reason to turn him a traitor and kill him off....also i read somewhere that Manav only signed up for a year but why turn him into a traitor? That's a complete 180 to his character who joined CID to help people...

Coming to his brother , it was revealed that he was killed then in a later episode he turned out to be alive but was in a vegetative state

Yeah Abhijeet and Daya always kept him at an arm's length for some reason i could never understand.

Freddy sir stood by everyone , he was the silent rock of support for the entire team.

Only Dr Anjalika understood Daksh like you mentioned.

He was killed by Nakul in the end
