If it’s based on nominations then someone obviously nominated her. This is more of a popularity sentiment than an anything else. Comparisons to Irfan and Tabu doesn’t apply really. And if the celeb themselves have to pay for its upkeep Deepika is obviously willing to do that. Maybe PC and Aishwarya weren’t willing to pay the fee.

This isn’t the biggest deal, but it will be something fun and cute for her fans to look forward to as there will be a small unveiling ceremony etc. So it’s all good.

What happens when a star dies, what if their family can't keep up the payment.Or stars themselves are not able to afford anymore.Do they remove the star?

My guess is that this amount is for the installation ceremony. Yearly upkeep of 85 K dollars X thousands of stars...can take care of roads in a large area of Los Angeles.

Why some rich pay a large amount fo be in exclusie company-is known only to them.Natasha PoonaWala doesn't attend Metgala,to be featured on PinkVilla. Her billionaire friends and business associates too buy tables there. She goes,because it benefits her or her husband.

Actors or celebrities probably see this as an investment too. It’s a prestige thing. Specially in this case if you attach the fact that she’s the first Indian actress to get this star.

its no investment many times the stars are vandalized, if walk at night , which i did during my first outing, you find all sort of ppl...yes ppl on crack yadachances you might even find homeless around, tho police presence around, but like i mentioned in my first post, the abuse on poor stars you walking on is sad

see some stars would do anything , grab any opportunities to stay in limelight, as long as ppl are talking about them. which is good, let them do whatever pleases them
