I have read 4 chapters, will read chapter 5 tonight. I'll be busy today, travelling out of city, so I'll be back tomorrow to discuss. You guys can read upto chapter 6 by then.

I only read 2 chapters, since it’s only now Monday morning for me. Will read 3 and 4 today. Maybe we should agree on a timeline for the chapters since everyone is in different time zones?

Also, yes, the Painter is definitely the MMC !

I've also read it till chapter 4, now reading 5. So far, so good. One thing I like about Runyx is that the beginnings of mostly all her stories are very intriguing. I'm loving the mystery aspect of it and I'm absolutely loving the chemistry between Salem and Caz. What is the age gap between them though? Also in the trigger warnings I saw a mention of dubcon, I really really hope it's not between the leads

ok I’ve gotten to Chapter 9 since I’m not sure what pace this group is going at.

Posting some thoughts - if you haven’t read this far, please avoid this post.

What I got so far is:

Caz belongs to some unknown group or cult and they’re likely controlling him and making him do stuff against his will. There was talk about him being ‘caged’ and doing weird stuff like ‘groupthink’. Do they control their minds and make them all think alike?

The Uni initiation process involves drugging the freshmen. Not sure if it’s a date rape drug or something to do with mind control. Melissa was drugged but afaik she wasn’t sexually assaulted or anything. So will this have consequences for her? Is this the way they’re inducted into the cult?

Salem suspects that Olivia may not have killed herself since she always leaves a note. Something she wrote to Salem had the words ‘they’re making me do this’ hidden in the letter. Caz also said something like this to Erik when Salem followed him through the woods. So it’s likely Caz and Olivia are controlled by the same cult.

Dr. Merlin seems involved somehow. Is he a sexual predator? Preying on younger girls?

The excellency awards and the 11 deaths have a connection and now Salem is offering herself up as bait.

The Uni definitely seems shady and involved in all of this since all records of the dead students have been erased.

Salem has a murder board! I like her - she seems badass.

Her father is said to have killed someone. Was that person related to this cult? Was it a revenge killing for his daughter?

Part 2 finished, those who've not read till there kindly don't read this post as it may spoil few things.

So far this is becoming my favourite story of RunyX. The back and forth between Caz and Salem is 🔥🔥🔥. There is definitely history between caz's brother and Salem's sister, I think they were romantically involved. Psychology professional is I think head or at least one of the heads of that secret society, that man is disgusting. Also I wish more scenes of Aditi and Baron. The friendship between Melissa, Aditi and Salem is lovely, so happy for her to finally have gotten some good people by her side.
