@b: I have highlighted some books here. I would love to buddy read with you for these books:

1) Macbeth - William Shakespeare

3) Twelfth Night - William Shakespeare

4) The Magic Drum and Other Favourite Stories - Sudha Murthy

I haven’t read Stephen King before, only heard of him. Need to read a book or two to know how is it!

On a different note, I love seeing Enid Blyton in your list. She’s a fantastic author and one of my most favourite. I read her books when I was in my 3rd / 4th grade. Malory Towers, St. Claire’s. Five detectives and dog ( Fatty, Pip, Daisy, and the lot ) — ahh great times honestly. smiley27

If you want to read Stephen King's books, you can select his thriller books. He's mainly known for his horror novels and horror short story collections, but he wrote thrillers too.

I can accommodate your schedule since it only extends for two more days. Let others confirm and you can join us!!

Also, how about, lets get the dramas out of the way and start reading Robinson Crusoe after them?

Okay, I have no problem. We can buddy-read Robinson Crusoe after completing Shakespeare's dramas.

Yes, I would love to join. But the only problem is that I'm a very slow reader. I'll soon start buddy-reading Robinson Crusoe with LizzynDarcy. Apart from that, I'm currently reading a book named Nightmare Academy. I may start listening to an audiobook as well. Now with all of these books, it's very difficult for me read two acts of the two dramas (Hamlet and The Merchant of Venice) daily. But I really want to join.

I would like to invite Pavitra to buddy-read as well. She absolutely loves Macbeth and Hamlet. And I really like reading her analytical and interesting posts. She's an intelligent girl. So, I want to know her thoughts about Lady Macbeth's character, the sleep-walking scene, the dagger scene, the opening scene, the scene of the prophecies, the banquet scene and so on. Btw, I want to warn you that there're supernatural elements in Macbeth. I read both Macbeth and Twelfth Night when I studied English honours in the past. So, I'm completely sure about the existence of supernatural elements in Macbeth. I hope that's okay with you. And if you don't feel comfortable due to the existence of supernatural elements in the play, you can skip Macbeth and read the other three dramas of Shakespeare.

Thank you, Shirsha! smiley27

I would absolutely love to buddy read Macbeth, The Merchant of Venice and Hamlet with you. It's quite enriching when you can analyse and discuss literature with someone. Have you opened a separate thread for these? And could please share the schedule as well so that I can decide my reading schedule and other stuff?

Do you want to read Twelfth Night too? I want to read Macbeth, Hamlet, Twelfth Night, and The Merchant of Venice. But it'll be difficult for me to read two of Shakespeare's dramas at the same time. I want to read one drama at a time. That's because I'm reading another book and listening to an audiobook. So, I can't give time to two Shakespearean dramas at once. I want to start with The Merchant of Venice. After finishing The Merchant of Venice, we can start Hamlet or Macbeth.

I already posted my preferred reading schedule. I want to read three scenes in a day for The Merchant of Venice. If Alchemy says she's okay with it, we can proceed. Yes, there are threads on both The Merchant of Venice and Hamlet. LizzynDarcy created them, and she shared books there as well. I'll read from the book she shared because all of us need to follow the same edition. Btw, I shared a long list of books yesterday and tagged you. Did you see the list? If you want to buddy-read any of the books from that list, you can do that. There are different genres in the list, and you can select any book according to your preference. There are eleven Japanese books in my list, and you can see if any of them resonate with you.

LizzynDarcy is a professor of English literature. She teaches English literature at a University. So, it'll be interesting to read her thoughts/analysis. Here's the link to The Merchant of Venice's post created by LizzynDarcy.

This is the post where I shared the reading schedule suitable for me. LizzynDarcy said she's okay with it.

@Bold Now I feel like I am about to run a classroom smiley37smiley37 Although I totally blame Lizzie for bringing this onto me. smiley37smiley37 Why did you tempt me??

a man with long hair and a ponytail is smiling

On a serious note, if anyone has issues with the schedule, let me know. I know, I have started some of the schedules from today, but if more people wish to join, I can accommodate them and make little adjustments.

But I won't be able to read Hamlet. Can you guys wait for me? I want to read four dramas written by Shakespeare (Hamlet, Macbeth, Twelfth Night, and The Merchant of Venice). But it won't be possible for me to read all of them this month.

LizzynDarcy, it will be very nice if you can make changes to the reading schedule. I can read three scenes daily. I'm sharing my suitable reading schedule to give you an idea.

The Merchant of Venice

Act 1- 3 scenes (I can read all of them in a day)

Act 2- 9 scenes (I can read all of them in 3 days. I'll be able to read 3 scenes in a day.)

Act 3- 5 scenes (I can read the first three scenes in a day, and the next two scenes on another day)

Act 4 and Act 5 (I can read them in a day because there are two scenes in Act 4 and only one scene in Act 5)

Robinson Crusoe

I can read 10 pages daily because I'll be reading The Merchant of Venice and Nightmare Academy along with it.

Pavitra, you can join us as well. Foreverlazy, are you interested in reading The Merchant of Venice?

No problem Shirsha, we are okay with these changes! If the others are okay, so am I. smiley31

Oh well I'm excited to read it myself. Though I've read every Runyx book and liked Tristan and Morana's books (Dark verse series 1st 2 books) Try reading that too if you like this one

Also my library allows me to borrow only for 21 days. I might be able to renew but can't say for sure - depends on how popular this book is and if there are other holds on it. So can we try and finish this one in 21 days if possible?

Yah sure, I'm holding off reading that book now as I'm in the mood for historical fictions

Will probably start reading it next week
