He is partially incorrect and partially correct.

Partially incorrect because he put entire South Cinema under one umbrella, which is Telugu industry. Not true...Malayalam Industry is entirely different, they make more content oriented movies, path breaking movies.Mainly because of budget constraint and the audience appreciate different approaches...You can never expect a movie like Kahani to make big hit in Telugu, but in Malayalam it can happen.

He is correct all big movies coming from the South are of the same formula...with Hero elevation, heroine objectification...Nothing to learn from them, apart from going backwards...

I don't like it when people generalize to make a point...as a filmmaker, Roshan should be able to differentiate and not pitting the whole South Indian Cinema against his some movies...

He is not completely wrong. The successful south films that reaches Hindi audiences are only trash movies like pushpa where hero is the hero and the heroine is a trash whose body is shammed in many ways ( dance, scenes, vulgar songs, vulgar scenes) so and so. His knowledge is very limited I guess. His comments are based on the large scale movies that work well with north audiences. But they were not gems of the south.

Real gems are hidden in Hotstar and Netflix.. especially Malayalam movies, they are the best when compared to all other languages.Telugu is a gutter to watch, especially the pan India stuff they try to sell. Whereas Malayalam and Tamil low budget/ low key movies are best.

Hope he watches them and may enlighten himself better.
