I think it is more to do with the number.. likhta is used when one person writes, likhte is when many are writing. I could be totally wrong on this.. almost 18 yrs since I last learnt Hindi

And 'phool' ko 'fool' kaho, with the rural accent... who is going to mind? Woh vamp bhi aise bol rahi thi jaise 'shabd mere hein par bol wo rahi hai'. Yeah... unless Vasudha writers are similar, this can come only from the keyboards of Kaise writers.
