He gave up his happiness once she so clearly rejected him and pushed himself to focus on his responsibilities... And find solace in this life that he didn't want by trying to convince himself of the reality that's his life now by accepting Arshi as his wife and telling and doing all the right things(for his family and arshi)
Up until he got heart attack he continued to push himself in the same way because J also pushed him to do the same thing by rejecting him, brutally I must say, again and again...
And now post heart attack, I feel like I am seeing a completely different Ani from the journey till now. I can understand him much better during Mumbai track than now honestly.
Don't get me wrong, I LOVE that he's finally being honest with his feelings and doing his best to show his love for Jhanak. But when he starts speaking to Arshi or about arshi that's when I feel weird I guess.
I feel a lack of certain emotional turmoil, sensitivity from Ani's side recently. I can understand that he finally got complete clarity on what he wants in his life but I feel like he is not taking responsibility for all the words he uttered to Arshi and his family just few days back...
Right now I feel like he's being EXTREMELY Desperate and not clearly thinking about anything other than keeping J with himself.
Until he starts thinking straight again and solve the Arshi issue in a more sensible way he's not the Ani I know till now I guess...
Let's see how Leena proceeds this further...
@bold: Interesting....so you are happy that he is being honest about his feelings but you also think that Ani will solve the whole issue sensibly in one day? 
OBVIOUSLY he's extremely desperate....I'm surprised he's still alive after the amount of rejection and isolation he's faced. He is clinging to Jhanak as a lifeline in the immediate scheme of things after just coming back from the jaws of death. He had given up on life totally after corroding himself from the inside in going along with the wishes of others. That is why he is jumping to cling to Jhanak as she is the only one that helps stabilize him and help him see light in the darkness. You can't expect total rationality from a starving soul...it takes time to get your bearings.
As for taking accountability for his words to Arshi and the family.....LOL who takes full accountability for their lies and harsh words in this story? Has Jhanak taken accountability for lying to Ani that she didn't mean the ILU she said to him in the hospital? Has she apologized for telling him that she's glad she didn't have a baby with his blood in it?
It has barely been two days since his heart attack and even in that much time, he's managed to express a lot of honesty about what he wants given the pressures that he's still facing.....his family still relentlessly imposes their wishes on him even when he clearly tells them what he wants. You really think if he just tells them I was lying about what I said before, they will believe him and accept his wishes? LOL no, his family and Arshi both live in a delusion of believing what they want to believe....this is why Ani tackles them the way he does.
Also, if Arshi cares so much, why doesn't she ask him directly ki why did you lie before that you love me and called me your wife? LOL.....because the truth is that she knew all along it was a lie....his family did too. They constantly mocked him about Jhanak even when he was trying to say he loves Arshi and Arshi is his wife....so what is there to even clarify? In this story, everyone denies the truth in front of their eyes....so the only option left is to just state your truth explicitly and walk the path of your truth then....sitting around giving explanations to vampires like this won't solve anything.
Ani is anyways facing accountability for the mistakes he made....heck he almost died and was gasping for his life since so many days. He is also likely going to get trapped in whatever legal documents Arshi made him sign....so then still why so much disappointment with Ani alone?
Also, why does everyone forget that anything he did was not in a vaccuum....the two mahaan Raina sisters played their own part in the mess getting to this point.....but the expectations from them are always rock bottom....lol Arshi left Ani to die and even that didn't drain sympathy for her it seems
