The Inheritance Cycle

Has anyone read the Inheritace Cycle by Christopher Paolini? I love Eragon and Eldest. Can't wait for the third book, Brisingr, to come out.

Absolutely brilliant series. More sensible and deep than Harry Potter Series, The Inheritance series is a real treat, Hats off to Christopher - Talented beyond his age.

Lolz its okay but I will always find it a really weak copy of the Lord of the Rings and the world of JRR Tolkien.

Much of Tolkien's world is stolen by Paolini including the elves, dwarves and even the language created by Tolkien and also the maps of Middle Earth.

And the history of the draon riders created by Paolini cannot be compared at all to Tolkien's history of Middle Earth or Arda and if one compares the Silmarillion to Paolini's history....the dragon-riders seem really laughable.

The scope of Tolkien and depth of his imagination and the things he invented....well I don't think I will ever call Paolini as a worth copy cat even.

No offense to Paolini lovers but it just can't dream of matching up to Tolkien.

^^well if so, then one can always find similarities b/w even Harry Potter and LOTR. Like "The Dark Lord" n all for instance. LOTR Is kind of "worth studying" [Not comparing with Textbooks, but all the same, undeniably drags very much in patches]. But all said and done, It is the Ultimate magical fiction. Tolkein's imagination Unsurpassed. He has been hailed as the ultimate and Christopher isnt challenging him.
As for the comparison, sorry but who IS comparing. U yourself are doing the comparison!? 😕

Sorry but it did sound quite offensive you know. This Young man Christopher Paolini is talented beyond his age. Too harsh words those, one can always enjoy any book if one reads it with a clear mind, devoid of prejudices. 😉

But anyways, I am waiting for Brisingr. (Better release it soon, this is one story u wont remember for very long bcoz it has these intricacies and history of magic story n stuff, so one is susceptible to forget

To be fair he was only 15 when he wrote Eragon. He wasn't planning on matching up to Tolkien.

@ lucky_lakshmi - me too! We need a female rider and i don't think we'd have another human rider. It would take ages for he/she to train as well. I really hope Eragon is Brom's son. He'd still be related to Murtagh though.

^^the Clues do suggest that Eragon is Brom's son. I think Brom loved Eragon mother Selena.
yeah Eragon will still be related to Mutah and I am happy he is, bcoz Murtah isnt evil. It just shows how evil and cunning Galbatorix is that he managed to turn Murtah against the Varden.
