Only condition is that it should all be properly resolved by the end. I want a proper happy ending (or at least a satisfying ending). I have pretty much lost the capacity to handle sad endings I think 😅

Also, not too much smut if possible? I don't mind 1-2 scenes but I'm not in the mood for anything for than that atm.

Please please please kuch recs de do 🥺🥺

Do you like Colleen Hoover? Her books are full of angst

I'm not an angst junkie at all...so wrong person to ask smiley18

But try Mia Sheridan's Archer's Voice maybe. It did have angst but I'm no expert cos for me even a bit of angst feels like a lot smiley36. But I think this book does have a fair amount.

I read Rebecca Yarros' Full Measures that i think does have a fair amount of angst and not too much smut. I hear her The Last Letter is also very angsty but I haven't read it.

I've heard such mixed opinions about her lol. One of my friends is a huge fan of her works, and one of my friends hates her writing style smiley37 I've never read anything from her so idk. Any specific book you'd suggest?

I think people have an issue with her stories because theyre quite triggering and twisted.smiley36 But they do have a lot of angst, I love romance with thriller elements in it. Also her writing style is easy to read.

You can try It Ends With Us, thats her best one. Hopeless is also good.

Sorry Lizzie, missed your quote somehow 🙈 I think our book club did Archer's Voice sometime... it sounds so familiar but I can't remember if I actually read it or just put it into TBR 🤔🤔

I did read Last Letter couple years back and I... had mixed feelings about it smiley36 the first half I really enjoyed but there was something that totally ruined the HEA for me. I mean, I read angst to get to the happy ending, you know? When you get that happiness, you feel like okay, all that suffering was worth it (it's basically like the satisfaction of a slowburn romance when they get together). So if you ruin the HEA by any chance, the whole book just sorta crumples down for me. Also I felt that book needed some trigger warnings bcz I got something that I usually do NOT read, and I'd have stayed away if I'd known.

But the writing style was good enough. I'll have to check out Full Measures. I think this is the author behind 4th Wing too, which is everybody's favourite book rn? I haven't read that one but it's on my TBR 😅

Hopeless is my bestie's fav from CoHo! I've heard that book mentioned so many times by now, it's like my ears have fallen off smiley37 she never said anything about CoHo having thriller elements though, just that they're very interesting (I love romance thrillers too ❤️)

It Ends with Us is the one getting the Blake Lively movie right?

In Archer's Voice the MMC cannot speak. It's actually quite a good book.

Yeah, I did hear conflicting things about The Last Letter which is why I haven't touched it smiley36.

Fourth Wing was quite good. The second book - Iron Flame was a drag. I began hating the characters I loved in FW smiley36. Since it's 5 book series, I guess I'm committed to reading all of it smiley6.

Another angsty book I recall reading is Long Shot by Kennedy Ryan. It was impactful but very triggering for me (SA.. heaps of it smiley18), so although I believe it's an important subject, it wasn't for me.

Highwayman by Kerrigan Byrne was angsty .. if you're into Historical romances. It's quite a well-loved book, but I gave it 2 stars smiley11. So you see, I'm not the right person to approach for angsty books smiley6

Yeah, movie is in cinemas but im not gonna watch it.

Hopeless does have good twists, though they were predictable for me. But I still enjoyed the story and the connection between the leads.
