Makers ko chye thora inki backstory show krey bcz it never felt like he's in love with her rather than liking / infatuation bcz they're sharing the same social class and financial background.

Also our definition of love also keeps changing na!!!! I mean now looking back we can say that he didn't love Arshi...but I believe at that point according to his questionable definition of love , he did love Arshi...

When we were younger, we do have a checklist for our love...in a way we try to contrive a romantic relationship... something that is beyond our control...later we realise that we fall who we fall for & then while analysing our emotions we discover similarities in cores...like Ani and Jhanak...

So may be that...Arshi ticked all his boxes and he tried to make himself believe that she is the one he loves....but now that illusion has left him...
