"The film needs to get around 60 crore nett or very close in 2 weeks and then it will be a decent success"
It's not a success, the report says it still needs to reach 60 crores to even have decent box office, and most likely it will not get the hit tag, and apparently the budget is 80 crores
But amazing how BOI is saying that it is not a hit but making excuses that it's okay becuase the movie had limited appeal

ZHZB did not cross over 41 crore in less than a week. This film is a success. People have already predicted around 65 crore lifetime or over.

That is what I have read. But that might be messed up as not every sight confirmed it. And this was one of those weird films that started around lockdown time.
The mansoon also started heavily affecting this filmi during the week days. That is a part of the hindi belt.
But I thought that it can only be called a success if it gets the hit tag? or is it different rules for different movies now? So now films who get average, below average and even less are being called successes now? Films that don’t even recover the budget are being called a success? Because if that’s the case then a lot of movies that have been labelled as failures should be called successes
deadpool and wolverine is releasing tomorrow and apparently the advanced booking has been very good in India, could effect the box office of bad neewz as both are multiplex movies

I think Bad Newz has created a lot more impact than what we though. We thought it would be out of the theatre by the first week. The collections are pretty good, considering everyone had no interest in the film.
Lets not forget, post-pandemic, we have had big stars do numbers in LAKHS.
