He clearly isn't having a very good year health wise. After the leptospirosis, we hear Aftab Shivdasani has now developed hernia. "It's true," says the actor. "I was riding during the filming of Subhash Ghai's Shaadi Se Pehle a few days ago and the horse wasn't a very well-behaved fellow. I guess it was a patch of really rough riding that resulted in an injury, because the pain is agonising."
After two days on painkillers, Aftab and his doctor realised the trouble was caused by more than a superficial injury. "I went in for some tests yesterday and the doc says I will need surgery as soon as possible," Aftab confirms, "This must be the first injury I have ever had on-set…"
Unfortunately, a packed schedule means that the actor will have to keep popping pills until he's free to visit a surgeon. "If I don't go in to work, it will put the film's projected release date out of gear. The other actors won't be able to accommodate the date changes, and we will lose too much time."
So, for now, it is work first and personal well-being later. But that commitment must sure be earning Aftab major brownie points with his producers.
