currently, the serial is focusing on lakshmy, uma devi
and saraswathy and they competition to show which
quality is important: stong, rich or intelligent. i thought
amman was the godess representing veeram (strong/
strength). btw, this competiton is all due narathar and
his narathar velai. lakshmy (education) says that she'll
make an uneducated person clever and saraswathy
challenges that she will make a poor person rich and
finally uma argues that she is going to win as she will
make a weak person strong..

first up is the uneducated person.. mum shouting at him
for being stupid and that she would have aborted him
in karapa pai if she knew that he was going to be this
stupid and would have given birth to some stones. son
doesn't understand anything his mother is saying..
mother continues about how clever husband is and that
he has written many sacred writtings. then she leaves
asking his son to put the arisi when the water is hot
enogh.. he questions why his mum is heating the water
and that she doesn't know how to cook fast because
she could easily put the arisi in the fire.. he does this and
gets shouted by his mother.. another lady comes in and
tells amma that she should marry his son to someone so
that he'll improve, but amma is worried as to who will
marry her son.

Introducation of kalaiarasi.. it is ponnu parkira day and
she is told by her chitti that she should not ask mappilai
any questions, but she is determined to ask him. when
she is called, she floods mappilai with tricky questions
and he is unable to answer. they are about to leave, she
answers her own questions cleverly.. playing with words.
they say that she is going to be a kani forever and chitte
shouts at her saying that she isn't going to get married..
she answers that someone will come for her.. who is that
going to be?😆

son having a small fight with muttai selling man and then
chittie is seeing all this.. she is "cooking" a plan for kalai.

chittie coming to see his mother and they go inside for
little chat. chittie is looking around her house and then she
tells her that she is lucky for giving birth to his son. then
she tells amma to call his son (name - vidiyodhara), he
comes in and wants to eat pazham in chitties bag and she
tells him to take some and to call her athai. amma is all
confused and then chittie clarifies all the confusion, she
says that kalai is very good and that she is very adakka
odukkam. amma is in total shock.😲 amma is all happy
and she confirms that she is happy about this wedding
plan.. chittie tells her to come tomorrow. she prays to
god.

chittie telling her hubby not to be there when vidiyodhara
comes to ponu parka.. and she says that if he doesn't
then she'll commit sucide.. first do that!!

Wonder how this serial is greeted by the audience in India??

chittie tells vidiyodhara to remember what she is
saying and he listens. she informs him abt the
questions which he is going to be asked and tells
him to remember the three questions. amma is
worried outside as to what chittie and his son are
talking abt inside.

ponnu parka vanthachu.. vidiyodhara wants to eat
the murukku, but amma tells him not to. chittie and
kalaiarasi walks in, amma asks them to take a seat
and vidiyodhara is flattered by kalaiarasi's beauty.
then kalaiarasi starts with her question, however they
are not the ones that chittie told him to remember..
vidiyodhara is confused and he picks up the murukku
and chittie tells kalaiarasi that mappilai pesamale vidai
soli vitaar. she does this few more time and kalaiarasi
asks her chittie to stop and vidiyodhara to answer her
next set of questions. chittie shocked.😲 these questions
are the revised questions and therefore vidiyodhara
is able to answer.. kalai is happy.😃 after the 3 questions,
she want to ask one final question.. chittie is again shocked.
kalaiarasi asks for the wedding date.. pavam ponnu!!

wedding is over.. kalai walks inside the room and starts
praising vidiyodhara for answering her questions cleverly.
then when she asks him another question, he drops a
sugar cube in the milk and she interprets that as his answer.
then he looks up and shocked??? runs to the door, then
looks up again.

it doesn't last too long.. the truth is out and kalaiarasi is
furious. she calls athai, chittie and appa, complains abt
how chittie tricked her and questions chittie as to what
she would've done if she was her own daugther.. chittie
points out that she cancelled many of her marriages and
that she always point out that she's not her mother..
amma gets angry hearing all this and shouts at her son
for always thinking abt food and his stupidity. she asks
him to leave or otherwise naan sethu poiduven. he leaves.
