I am confused as to why the writers are focusing on Ruhi’s DDP..the characters might not know things but the audience does..the fact that she married Rohit just so she could stay close to Armaan, hit on him even while Rohit was around, prayed for Rohit to be dead when the news of his being found came, drew up divorce papers and practically blackmailed Armaan into talking to Abhira, stole Abhira’s dupatta, deliberately made Charu’s affair public to prevent Abhira from confessing to Armaan etc etc …I think I have covered most of it .. so why or how will an audience connect with her DDP of losing in the final stretch, unless the makers want the audience to get some thrills out of seeing her suffer ?

honestly i don't know where the makers are going with her character. I don't think they're trying to whitewash her because with each episode she's coming across as even more pathetic and selfish. Her DDP looks as fake as her concern. I don't think even the trp audience will sympathise with a character like Ruhi who is so vile and shameless. Waise bhi 3rd angle kaisi bhi ho usse gaali hi padti hai by trp aunties(even if she's the victim of the situation) It's regressive but it is what it is. So unless suddenly Ruhi has a change of heart and back out on her own no one is going to sympathise with her. (And i don't see this happening anytime soon)
IMHO, Ruhi is here to stay.. Atleast until Rohit is brought back! Only can they actually give her an arc of redemption. If she apologises to him for knowingly sabotaging his life and abetting his disappearance. Whether he then chooses to live with her or not is upto him. But there is no way she is going to be accepted by simply being abandoned at the altar. I mean by the Poddars, yes sure! But the audience may at best feel sorry for a girl being abandoned due to a guy's confusion. But the larger sentiment for sure would be that she deserved it. As for wronging Abhira and everything in bold that she did after Rohit's disappearance, I think that will be conveniently forgotten under the garb of her doing whatever was needed to fight for her love, knowing fully well that what Armaan had was a deal marriage! And to that, Armaan is an equal party, if not the bigger one at fault. So he will face the consequences more for not being firm enough with Ruhi and allowing her that much control on his life however much of a sham it may have been.
Now whether she would back out on her own is a good question! Tbh after her dialogue to herself today about how she can't ever accept happiness and continues to fear something will go wrong because her life has been such can make her go either way! Keeping in mind all that Armaan has been saying/doing and her own thought processes, she could either hear Armaan out and back down so she gets some small portion of white washing done, or she could go full throttle into the this-time-i-want-what-i-want mode and continue the vileness only to eventually be identified for who she actually is by all the family members who are so blinded by her love so far. I personally don't think they would want Ruhi to be whitewashed before Abhira lineage truth is out. It makes for too much drama for the Goenka family to be split and tears and fights and blamegame et al.
Honestly there is too much drama potential with Ruhi's character. Whichever way they decide to go. Although Rishta hasn't made a PL so negative before, I think with Ruhi they crossed that line when she decided to marry a man simply to be close to another man in the same house! Everything else she did after doesn't even come close to that nonsense. I don't see that can be corrected at this stage, considering she is not even shown to feel a tiny bit of remorse or introspection in flaunting her current wedding proceedings with the very family she has defrauded. And the correction could have been done even now. All it would have taken was for Vidya to be angry for atleast one tiny second, and for Ruhi to have at least apologised for knowingly married Rohit instead of just wording it like Armaan and she made a big sacrifice. It seems the makers are a tad too late to the party on every front. Ruhi's whitewashing, Armaan's realisation, brining back Rohit, Abhira's lineage truth!! They are just missing the bus and bringing it up when its frustrating to accept it.
