yeah i started leaning to that theory more and more. I also wondered if he may be hoping J will claim their married relationship before hsi wedding? thats why he was musing if the wedding to Arshi would really happen on the day of the patti? he seems to be doing things since to poke her, jealousy at ashirwad, the despair at her not picking up his feelings, the date, all the hints and finally the frank convo in the car. He is always looking at her face intently like he is trying to gauge her feelings :)
there is also some things that suggest J will claim her right, the whole sudden focus on their physical attraction and her comment that she hopes they dont do anything to take her moms ashirwad off. this whole reveal of her married state to Arshi, refusal to not prmose to come back + all the conditions for return :)
return is definitely happening but I don’t think Jhanak will claim her rights as Ani’s wife anytime soon. The major conflict they have been building since the start seems to be that Arshi can’t let Anirudh go, Ani can’t let Jhanak go & Jhanak can’t say no to Ani. That’s where all the drama is coming from.
Despite all the betrayal from Ani, Arshi is still not breaking off the relationship. Despite all the family pressure Ani is not letting Jhanak leave. And despite all her self respect & “sir ji is forcing me” claims, Jhanak still does whatever Ani wants her to do. That’s why she hasn’t left Bose House. And the only reason she is able to leave now is with Anirudh’s permission because Ani asked her to give exams.
Anirudh will be the one to get Jhanak back either through coercion or his sweet talks. The dynamics that they have built or are currently showing work like - Ani forces Jhanak for something & she can’t resist him for long (even if she tries to). All their dialogues are like that lately.

“hum dono ko yaad h humari shaadi hi chuki h”
he’s always forcing his feelings & wishes on her
“main Sirji ko na nahi keh sakti” Jhanak has said it twice now
that dupatta removing scene was the most obvious representation of their dynamics. Ani constantly exerts his “husband” rights/authority on Jhanak & she lets him do as he pleases.
So I think that Ani himself will get her back & after all her resistance & arguments she will do what he wants & come back to the mad house for him.
