G- Yeah, I can hear you fingers nervously tapping on the table…. but thanks for the suggestion I’ll practice by myself and decide.

Maan is surprised that he had such a knowing tell!

But then he wasn't used to hiding anything.

M - Ahemm I volunteer to watch and help you judge.

G - ... watch what?

M - You... doing bed scene alone...

G - You want to watch?

M – Umhmm

G - Fine.

Maan is super surprised by this unexpected approval.

He gets ready to see something good.

Unfortunately, Geet just picks up the script and dryly reads the scene in a monotonous robotic voice.

G - Hmm I finished the first round of practice. Still want to watch?

M - I feel like you will do much better without an observer in the initial stage. Let's talk again when you can move around to match the words.

Geet smiles gleefully.

G - Is that so... well…if that's what you want.

M - Nicely played in the end Mrs. Khurana.

G- Thank you very much, Mr Khurana

She thanks the Maan while laughing and bids him goodnight.

Next day around late evening Maan again receives a message from Geet.

It has almost become like a ritual between them.

He wasn’t annoyed he smiles seeing her message.

G- Busy?

M- Not really.

G- Can I call?

M- Yeah

G- Video call?

Maan quickly jumps to tidy his appearance.

He video calls her acting cool.

M- All well?

G- You are still in office?

M- Yup, finishing up some stuff. You are done with your shoot?

G- Yeah…

She says biting her lips, tucking her hairs behind her ear.

M- How was it?

G- Shayna was really nice to me. All of us were really nice to me.

She blurts sounding concerned.

M- Well…that’s good. Who is Shayna by the way?

She frowns

G- Shayna! The other actress that I had a fight with.

M- Oh! That’s great. She will not mess with you again then.

G- She wants you.

She says grumpily.

M- Huh?

G- I mean she wants your number. Actually everyone wants your number, other actors, the director, the writer….everyone. They implied that even if they believe I don’t have anything with you, at least I have your contact. They want to speak to you.

M- I can speak to them.

Her pupils dilate with surprise.

G- You want to speak to them?

M- I don’t want to, I can if it benefits you.

G- How will it benefit me? They will ask you for some favor or may ask you to invest in this project or something.

M- Investing in your project will benefit you too. Don’t you want that?

G- I want that. But…not on your expense…I…don’t want you to lose money…I don’t want you to invest in a sinking ship.

M- You think your project is a sinking ship?

G- I don’t know! I just do my job.

M- How much money do they need?

She looks at him straight into his eyes with a serious expression.

G- You don’t need to know that.

M- I can invest upto 10 Cr

G- What????? Why will you do that???

M- I told you.

G- What?

M- If that helps you, I will invest.

G- No! It doesn’t help me. It does opposite of that. Do you realize its just…its just creating a debt for me…how will I pay you back? Can I ever pay you back?

She is agitated.

M- Then don’t pay back.

G- Is this charity then? Tumhare paas itna saara paisa hai?

M- I told you its not charity. I am doing this for you.

She is visibly annoyed.

G- Do you think this is profitable?

M- I don’t think so but I cant say for sure. I make decisions based on data. But whatever it is, I can have a word with your colleagues. Will see how it goes from there.

G- Okay Bye.

She abruptly hangs up.

Maan stares at the screen for a moment.

This woman always does the unexpected.

Next day he calls her

She picks the call but it seems she is in a dark room with some screen illuminating her face and she is in her pajamas with a bare face and with a updo hair.

G- What? I am busy

M- Why are you spamming with various articles and financial data?

She finally smiles.

G- So what do you think?

M- About?

G- About the data of course! What did you decide?

M- It’s a lot of stuff. I will check.

G- I knew it. I knew you will be busy. Let me finish this, this will help.

M- What are you doing?

G- I am putting the data into graphs and presentation. The corporate way. It will help you make the decision.

He raises an eyebrow.

M- Is your shoot over?

G- Over for the day.

M- Where are your colleagues and Lady A?

G- They went for a party, Lady A went with them.

He nods.

She is silent for whole 15 min.

He is also silent waiting for her to realize that he is on the call.

While she is busy with typing on her computer.

G- You know what. Being an investor is hard. I thought money makes life easy. Maybe it doesn’t.

Hmm 😏 so the new mentioned issue between Maan and Geet is now money ... But obviously Geet won't let him invest till the time she is sure enough for the safety of money

I am happy that Maan & Geet are taking time & their bond is getting better & stronger there is a transperancy in this relationship which is important for a marital life

I was surprised seeing Geet working on this like a corporate team 🙂 hopefully things are fruitful for them in future
