All above are directors’ whose movies I hand pick to watch. No misses. But Sircar is my favorite. October was. Beautiful. I loved Piku.

Slice of life - is kinda my type of genre. I love to pick one and cherish em for ever. smiley14

Unfortunately, the Shyam Benegal one is without English subtitles (although I can choose an English 'running translation'...ha ha ha) and with all 5 min an ad block (no!)... but looking for this movie I came across another one with subtitles - the Rajkummar one with Pulkit as director (he is a good director, too...made the RCE film Bhakshak and the thriller Maroon).

the R.Rao one is a series if that's the one you're talking about and its brilliant as well. covers a lot of crucial touch points of his life leading to his house-arrest and escape which the SB movie doesn't.
OP - sorry for digressing from the main topic of the thread

All the movies I've watched directed by Sircar made a deep impression on me.

Sardar Udham is one of those biopics that touches emotions very deeply ...and doesn't leave one...what a stellar performance of Vicky Kaushal smiley27
