They actually did not show his conflict which was probably because this was a last minute addition/ change. In fact, they showed Anjali to be chosen by his family with no inclination from his side. Ab achanak they changed the story.

Maine parso bola tha they should show Anjali to be his fiance. The thing is they need to give an explanation or a monologue of Surya. Talking about how miserable he feels that he had to give up the love of his life for the guilt he carried.

Instead of seeing this as cheating, I see this as a bigger sacrifice made by Surya. If he wasn't in love with Anjali or in a relationship with her, marrying Imlie is not a huge sacrifice. Now there is meaning to what he did. Also, this gives reason for Anjali to become a full fledged vamp to try and separate Surya and Imlie. Unless there was conflict in Surya, there could not be a story.

Why does everyone think this relationship affects his characterization? Ofc him flirting with Imlie, agreeing to marry Binni and then marrying Binni was all when he didn't know he had a GF. What determines the character is how he behaves with her now.

I feel there is a good scope for Surya to feel the pinch because Imlie for now cannot be the wife that Anjali could be. She cannot fill that void in the current state. I see Surya being super conflicted about his stance with respect to Anjali but I don't see him cheating on Imlie. He will try to maintain his distance and not cross boundaries. Also, this gives him scope to appreciate Imlie for what she is and what Anjali isn't. There is going to be a constant comparison in his mind.

@Kashish, the moment these two realize they are husband and wife and vocalize it, it will be a great moment. I am looking forward to it too.

@sai2311, how do you think Anjali can stay at the house? She isn't related to the family so has no rights. I don't think Indhira (if she knows Anjali is Surya ki ex) will encourage her. While she has regressive thoughts, she won't tolerate that. Didn't her husband also leave her this way? Surya will not do the same mistake his Taaya did.

This could be when Tayyi decides to give Imlie her support, not out of concern but for the principle that she is Surya’s wife. Especially since Nirmala and Malti will plot to push Anjali towards Surya. We need balance if they’re going for the gharwali vs. bharwali storyline.

Maybe Anjali will stay over as Malti’s friend, they won’t reveal that she’s Surya’s gf to the rest of the family. This gives Anjali and Surya the chance to have “angsty” emotional moments or uncomfortable flirty moments.

Tanveer in QH did it really well, and that’s one of Gul’s shows so I’m sure she can borrow some stuff for her third angle from there.

Imlie isn’t going to feel possessive of Surya as she doesn’t consider him her husband nor does she want any rights as his wife. Maybe we’re all right in assuming that she’ll try to set up Anjali with him as to make her own exit from his life faster.

We’ll probably have a scene where she calls out Surya for not only hurting his Tayyi and sister by marrying her but also betraying his love. Maybe Imlie will tell Anjali to keep pursuing Surya by saying that their marriage isn’t permanent. Or she’ll at least encourage her to fight for her love by mentioning how she herself lost her Babu.

I want Anjali to have a little evil bone in her body, I want Surya to realize how much of a gem Imlie is in comparison. I lowkey want Anjali to do little vampy things to bother Imlie, Surya needs to prioritize Imlie more.

In QH, Tanveer kept trying to get rid of Zoya by finding new ways to harm her. Asad would always save her at the knick of time and these moments would bring them closer. It forced Zoya’s jealousy out and made Asad’s concern impossible to hide.

Surya and Imlie aren’t there emotionally but we could at least start building something between them. We need them to at least start caring for eachother a little, beyond guilt and insaniyaat. A third angle is usually good at stirring up the pot in that direction, hopefully Anjali brings that into their dynamic.

Also someone who watches the show on TV - Can you please confirm what is shown on TV when the traffic scene comes in the episode ? Today the traffic scene was placed so bad - in between a good scene. Like Surya and Imlie were sleeping then there was a whole 30 sec ka traffic scene and then we had Imlie crying in her sleep. It was so disjoint. Can they place the ad scenes with better timing please.

Woh blank banners mein product advertisement is placed during tv telecast. I had seen "lays chips" and some jewellery brand in the banner in tv telecast in last week episodes. Yeh ad placement is common in star plus shows.

If Anjali was indeed the love of Surya then I have to say Anjali bach gayi by not marrying Surya as this guy did not even think of her when he was fake marrying or rather threatening to marry Binni or when he married Imlie. This more or less feels like infatuation from Anjali side and Surya is just indulging her. He does not seem to be a person who is deeply in love with Anjali because he did come to marry Imlie even when his Tayiamma asked him not to marry Imlie.

Somehow I feel they are setting up the stage where Surya will start to feel jealous of Imlie's love and devotion towards Agastya after seeing the superficial love that Anjali has towards him. Surya toh sabke beech phis jaayega and he will be getting gaali only from everyone.

I liked Surya and Tayiamma's scene in the morning. Jaya is a good actress who does not yell or shout and can modulate her tone diction really good to show that she is disappointed. Also the flashback of Surya and Imlie after marriage when Imlie asked him not to touch her was a good add-on. So that is the reason why Surya is not touching Imlie because she asked him not to. And I feel Surya is also okay with Imlie moving on after 1 year but by that time he will fall head over heels in love with her.

I did not like the last segment of the episode - debate of Imlie with Tayiji. What is the point of debating when she could have finished the rasoi and then gone to get the form ? She is anyway a good cook so she can actually cook everything off in less time and it would have scored some brownie points for her in Tayiji's eyes but nope madam wanted to be a lecture ka deviji and wanted to lecture on what is right and what is wrong. There is a time and place for everything. Imlie during Agastya and her contract marriage was not like this - she went over the top to adjust to the chaudhary's but here it is as if she is doing everything she can so that these people throw her out.

@bold 2 yes !!! Instead of arguing she could hv just finished the rasoi and gone .. anyways the office was open till four she said then what’s the issue ??? Faltu ka scene tha .. writers pls Kuch tho socho before you wrote such crappy scenes . Anyways 🙄

I liked today’s episode, they need to keep giving us Surya and Imlie scenes. Also it’s only the third one, but the charm of the plain anarkalis has really worn off, they look so shapeless. Humari stylish Imlie ko wapas le aao! Especially since the third angle is going to be shown as modern and fashionable in a bold way.

Although quite brief, I enjoyed the scene in the room. Surya used to be this guy who manhandled Imlie constantly and now he’s considerate enough to not even touch her in her sleep, even if it’s to help her. I’m still not melting but I’m appreciative of this badlav. I like how he used his shoulders to keep Imlie from falling off the bed before covering her with a blanket. He’ll hopefully continue supporting her like this in other ways during their marriage, I want him to complete Agastya’s incomplete promise of always catching her when she falters.

Turns out Anjali really was Surya’s serious gf, she has a wall of their printed pictures in this day and age. She looks like a nice person so far but I can see her becoming vampy after getting the sadma of Surya’s marriage with Imlie.

This makes Surya flirting with Imlie in the beginning so disrespectful when you think about it. Granted, back then he was supposed to be Agastya with memory loss and Anjali didn’t exist but still. I’m not excited for him to be emotionally affected by Anjali, I’d rather he be a bad boyfriend but a good husband.

We’re really getting those saas bahu wali vibes with the whole conversation between the women after Surya left. I felt like I stepped into a time machine when Tayyi stopped Imlie from going to sign up for her exam just so she could do her pehli rasoi. Imlie is talented in the kitchen but Nirmala-Malti will probably try and ruin the rasam.

I can understand Imlie questioning the rules and norms of the household, but at the same time she should know that you can’t change someone’s mentality in a day. She got lucky with the Chaudhary’s, they were more open to change. It’s one of the things that made me like Dadi in the beginning, her ability to actually listen and allow herself to accept her mistakes. But at the same time, she would paltao so quickly that it stopped feeling genuine. Imlie can definitely make her way to Tayyi’s heart, but it’s a long journey, unfortunately one that Imlie has no motivation to take at the moment.

Tayi Amma feels like the kind of character whose trust is hard to gain but once you have it, you’ll never lose it. I can see her being Imlie’s biggest ally in the future. Unlike Dadi who gave her trust easily but also took it away the moment Imlie did something she didn’t like. It’s an interesting dynamic so far between Imlie and Tayyi, one that I really hope they explore well within the show.

Surya and Anjali’s first encounter at the station will set the mood for the future interraction. She’ll probably run up to Sunny Boy and hug him to greet him. Imlie won’t feel any jealousy, if anything she might push Surya towards Anjali. I look forward to seeing them slowly start feeling something towards one another, like imagine the first time they call the other their pati or patni with haq.

I’m probably going to cringe a bit at Surya and Anjali’s “romantic” scenes, either that or I’ll get my chappal ready for them lol.

@bold1 :- Exactly. I still don't know why they made Surya being so flirty with Imlie at the police station - remember he claiming whatever belongs to babu will be his earlier if they are going to show Surya as a different person. This is what happens when you build up a track and at the last moment you are supposed to create a different track altogether because you have decided to bury whatever you have created. At that time we all were hoping for Surya to be Agastya with memory loss but nope suddenly we had a revamp and now Surya has a GF and that too a serious one as seen by the various pics in Anjali's room. So what is his relationship with Anjali ? Is it time pass Or he was seriously involved with her. If it is time pass then Anjali seriously bach gayi and if it is serious then it does not make sense that not once did Surya even miss his serious GF - not when he was threatening to marry Binni or when he actually married Imlie.

@bold2:- I did not like Imlie debating with Tayiji - It was a pehli rasoi so finish it and go and do your work. And she is a superb cook so why couldn't she whip up a king's buffet and impress the lady. There is a time and place to put your point forth. I actually liked it when Tayiji was saying that in stead of debating with me you could have gone and started on the work. And Imlie anyway is not going to stay in the house for long according to her so why does she want to one up and prove herself to be correct with Tayiji. Arey chup chap apna kaam karo and move on na. But nope Imlie has to be lady mukti morcha and she has to say that everyone fears Tayiji and that is why they don't say anything blah blah. It all felt unnecessary as like Surya said it is their family and their rules and she is no one to change them.

@bold3:- I don't think Imlie is going to have any patni haq at all. Ulta she might even give ideas and tips to Anjali to make sure Surya stays in love with her. Imlie has closed her heart and mind to anything love related and she is just living with her babu in her dreams. Something big has to happen and Imlie will jump in to safeguard the family. Maybe Anjali will cause some fiction due to which Chachi will be in trouble or something and that will pull Imlie back into the family and Imlie will assert that she is wife of Surya as she wants to save the family.

@bold:- Exactly - Today I felt that Imlie was arguing just for sake of it. She is a good cook who can cook even with hurt feet so why exactly was she arguing ? And that too talking about darr in the family members and trying to one up Tayiji when no one talks back to her ? Yeah they are making FL mahan but this is not the correct way to do it.

bold : Haa. These episodes seem like it will strike chord with trp audience. The writing is still not strong and they fumble with drama part in some places but it's still not as headless and confusing as Surya introduction episodes after Agastya episode. Major reason why trp fell drastically during those episodes is because trp audience couldn't connect with Surya and his motives. Abhi ke episodes mein Surya ke har family member ke sath relationship aur uski majboor crystal clear defined hai. Imlie ko bhi sherni banaya hua hai yeh bhi Acha lagta hai trp audience ko.

@bold :- The monologue was missing because the team does not themselves know what they are going to show next. It is really a very bad thing if Surya had a serious GF and he did not even think about her when he promised to marry Imlie.

No I don't think having a GF is a bigger sacrifice by Surya because this relationship is not for keeps na. He is just standing with Imlie for the 1 year and maybe he is okay with this because after 1 year he can marry Anjali. Now Surya readily agreeing to the 1 year condition from Imlie kind of makes him a self centered person. Neither Surya is in love with Anjali the way Agastya was in love with Imlie or Imlie with Agastya - If the love was indeed that deep then Surya leaving Anjali to be with Imlie will be a sacrifice on Surya's part because he has let go of something that huge to fulfill the promise given to his grandmother and to honor his late dead brother's wish.

The writers are not going to go that deep. They are going to show Anjali as a joker and later Anjali will turn vampy and Surya will realize that Imlie's love and devotion is too pure and he will fall in love with Imlie. They will dismiss Anjali ka track as infatuation from both sides and wrap it up like Nyonika ka track. These writers can not write good angst wala 3rd lead stories and looking at the new actress I feel uska pack up bhi jaldi hoga.
