The problem is that Imlie falling in love again would not be accepted as freely as Sai ka first show. Here Imlie is shown as having Shiddat wala devotion to her husband, she was basically living only to fulfil her promises otherwise she would have died already. Aise ibadat wala mohabbat dekh kar hazam nahin hoga 2nd pyaar. If the storyline was for her to fall in love again, in my opnion they shouldnt have shown such devotion.

My problem is the same as well. There are 2 SP shows and 1 Pakistani show (my limited knowledge) based on this theme. If I were to compare these 3 shows with Imlie, the issues with Imlie are -

1. All 3 shows had the female lead in deep love with the deceased husband too. But you are also right, none of them shared the devotion that Imlie has for Agastya. This is going to be their Achilles heel. They can't even let it go now and continuing this will not be welcomed.

2. The same face as her deceased husband makes it more icky (like how do we distinguish between both the pairs). The other 3 shows had siblings/half siblings not identical twins.

3. All these shows had a great equation between these female leads and their devar prior to the shaadi so post wedding there was awkwardness to move from devar bhabhi into the love phase. Here Surya and Imlie have to also deal with building the foundation and trust with each other before falling in love.

4. These shows actually gradually developed the love story. It was slow, it was a real slow burn and transformation of the relationship from friendship to love. I am not sure if Imlie has that much time considering our dicey trp.

5. The whole family was positive and supportive to make the couple work which is not shown in Imlie. Imlie and Surya have to deal with family trying to cause rift between them and barely any positive support system.

2. I have expressed my problem regarding this as well. Let's see how it works with the audience.

3. In this case the show is entirely new. There the family may be common. Here its a new story. So we cannot compare.

4. There is a great opportunity for slow burn here as well but of course IF the show does well. If it doesn't, then it's nit in anybody's hand.

5. Supportive family from the beginning will not work. The leads have to work or fall in love against everyone. That creates some spice or drama. Also it's a new family. Pehle se hi supporting dikha denge to audience bolenge Chaudhurys ko kyun nahi rakha. In Imlie season 1, the Rathores were positive which didn't work. Later they had to make positive characters negative and add new characters which again didn't work. So pehle se shady and negative characters will work. That will make entire family dynamics interesting.

Before I talk about today's episode which was really awesome, I have to reserve my choicest gaalis to the writers. At this point it looks like it is the zidd of writers to not give Agastya a happy ending. In today's episode they disclosed that Agastya was aware that Surya was his twin brother. Yeh lo - We did not even know a twin was entering but this guy knew it seems. Not only that Agastya was able to send a message to Surya also right after his marriage with Imlie that he will meet up with Surya soon and he introduced the family also.

I think later on they are going to show that Imlie will move on via Agastya ka ghost coming in and telling her to move on. It is like the writers just do not want the love story to end with Agastya and Imlie but now they have created this beautiful love story which has become their biggest drawback. So aise waise kar ke they are giving hints to the audience ki dekho bhai this is the story going forward. Ab you want to stay with the flow then please do so at your own caution but do not expect Agastya to come back.

Seriously how hard would it have been to show Surya as Agastya with memory loss. But nope they have to go this route only. But they are definitely giving a slow burn story as the precap suggests Imlie will tell Surya that she will stay with him for 1 year as compromise and then she will finish her exams and will move on from him. So we are in for a slow burn story.

Toh finally the shaadi happened today. Imlie became Imlie Surya Pratap Reddy and is no longer Imlie Agastya Singh Chaudhary

Both Agastya and Surya were raised by such selfish people. Both raised away from their real parents, burdened by the ehsaan of their respective selfish families. Surya bowed down to Tayi and decided not to go ahead with the wedding but a video message from Agastya changed everything. The video message was so weird (pura nonsensical tha and no logic too). Today's episode showed that Surya will take a stand against his family when he needs to.

Now, Surya knows directly from both Agastya as well as Imlie what they meant to each other and how much they loved each other. Surya knowing how Agastya wanted to keep Imlie, the love of his life, his wife, happy for the next 50 yrs. NGL, seeing Agastya ka scene crushed my heart once more. Yeh dukh khatam hi nahi hota.

Imlie did not react at all during the wedding but I could feel her inner turmoil throughout. Addy was exceptional in this scene. While I asked for a breakdown of Imlie, I enjoyed the angry accusing looks Imlie gave Surya during the whole wedding. She could not react much before her family. Loved the fact that Radha Krishna gave their blessings to the couple too.

Dadi smartly took a promise from Imlie to nibhao the wedding and Surya also promised Dadi to keep Imlie happy. Surya, please don't disappoint..it is a huge responsibility you have accepted. I loved the final scene of the Chaudhary family when they did the bidai. I was dying to hear Sonali Didi call Imlie Dulhan but alas.

It made absolute sense that seeing her sindoor wala roop in the mirror made Imlie react and realize what just happened, she was a statue before that. Her breakdown at the side of the road was so good. I am bawling since the time I saw the episode. She blamed Surya for coming to the temple and marrying her when she told him not to. All this girl ever wanted, was to be known as Imlie Agastya Singh Chaudhary, to be known as August babu ki wife, live with this family but kismat ko yeh manzoor na tha. Surya took the rights of Imlie to be known as "belonging" to Agastya. This pained me so much. Most shows have a separation track or the leads die together before the leap but after they have lived happy moments, my Agastya Imlie literally got none.

I can see why Surya will fall for Imlie soon enough (though it will be difficult for him to accept coz she was once Agastya ki wife). Imlie ke liye bahut hi zyada mushkil hogi to move on. Not sure if the writers have the capabilities to pull this off.

Precap main she told Surya that she is going to be his wife only for a year till she is not able to give her exam and become a reporter. Once she is independent, she will leave him. Tayi is going to create problems in the education track for sure.

So finally the new family makes entrance. Looks like Tayiji is alone, widow and childless. I did not see her husband. And according to Surya she accepted him and raised him well. Tayiji has full control on the house. I liked the way she shut off Nirmala - Surya's mother saying she never liked Surya. The Chachi seems to be sweet and most probably she will be the first one to be on Imlie's side.

Tayiji asks Surya to not marry and Surya agrees to adhere to their wishes. Here Imlie is feeling relaxed that maybe Surya will not show up and then she can go with her family. Tripathi calls up Surya and says they have found Agastya ka phone at the accident site and in the phone there was a message for Surya which he could not send due to poor network. So basically Agastya is telling Surya about himself and how he found out that they were twins and then telling about the family. He also tells that Imlie has had a tough life and he wants to keep her happy. This video was shot in after Agastya - Imlie ka wedding and Agastya is in his wedding clothes. So seeing this video Surya realizes that he needs to keep Imlie happy and drives to the venue. Beta you are marrying against your Tayiji ka wishes - Lene ke dene padh jaayenge.

The marriage happens with the family members. Finally no contract, no nakli shaadi. It is shaadi with rituals and the whole family ask Surya to take care of Imlie. It was sad seeing the characters exit the show as I have come to love the bond these characters had both on and offscreen. I so wish they had retained Sonali as she was really close to Imlie and shared good bond with Sai. Maybe Sonali could have been shown as staying back in Purwaiya to manage Chaudhary sweets.

The best scene of the episode was honestly the last scene. Finally realization kicking in for Imlie that she got married to Surya and thereby she lost the chance of being linked with Agastya as his wife/widow. Imlie becomes hyper and gets a panic attack. Surya stops the car and Imlie really lashes out on him for coming back and marrying her and Surya unfortunately can not say anything other than his promise to his Dadi. I felt really bad for Imlie - she did not deserve this and neither did Surya as he is walking into a marriage where he knows he will never get love. He can be Imlie's support and help her but she will never be his and the sad part is he himself as seen the extent to which Imlie can go for her dear babu. She can die for her babu and she can live for him. Something tells me Surya is going to be alone at the end of this show - Either Imlie will walk off or Imlie will die. The writers are sadistic and if the show does not survive the IPL time period then they might give an ending where Surya and Imlie separate.

I don't know how the creatives are going to weave a love story since the stakes are stacked pretty bad. Surya knows how much Imlie loves Agastya and so there is no way he is going to hope for anything in this marriage. Precap suggests that Imlie is going to stay with Surya till she finishes her exam which she can give next year. Let's see how they are going to write a love story from here on.

When you create a beautiful love story why go in zidd and try to get it destroyed like this. Not going to say you can not show Imlie falling in love again but where is the time ? If the show does not survive the IPL period then they will have to haphazardly patch up the ending and show Imlie move on with Surya or worst yet show that Imlie never could be with Surya and hence they separate. So basically the fans of this show might get a babaji ka thullu at the end of the show and the possibility seems really high.

Isse acha why couldn't they show Agastya being alive and Surya being Agastya with memory loss. At least the fans will have something to root about na and they will get their happy ending. Itna kya zidd ki they want to show Agastya dead and Imlie - Surya to be the end game.

The last part was superb - the emotional breakdown and the pain of Imlie for losing her family all over again and Surya being helpless to even explain his stand. And now we have the marriage is going to be for 1 year till Imlie completes her education. So this is going to be a very slow burn story. I feel sad for Sai and Adrija as they are brilliant at what they are doing and we could have gotten a better love story with more capable writers. Just watching the show for them and I am going to have very less hope that at the end of the show they are going to show Surya - Imlie being in love. Once bitten Twice Shy. Not going to keep too high of hopes from the writers.
