Because of this controversy, I need to watch this movie. Double standards because in the movies, they make the villains our religion always and nobody says anything, they said it's okay all the time, nobody removes those movies and they usually become blockbusters. But judging from this removal of the movie, not okay to hurt others so removing it but okay to hurt our religion I guess because nobody says anything about that. Anyways whatever, I don't like debating so I'll just stop.

The whole biryani and way over the top. Having said that the film intentionally glorifies a particular religion while being extremely critical of another religion/caste and was quite unnecessary. Some of the filmmaking crew are known to be bias. The bias is way obvious.

It is okay to make films that are anti religion. Problem in India is that films are made only anti hindu or anti Brahmin and never against any other religion and that is what is pissing off a lot of people Either do it for all or none.

Example the Hindu Brahmin with a shikhara (Amrish Puri) has been a villain in many movies and the father in a church or a mullah( Amar Akbar Anthony) are portrayed as extremely good. This is extremely unfair and unfortunate and has been prevalent in the Indian industry

Indian industry? No. There are quite a few movies in Malayalam criticizing Christians and Muslims religious orders. Recently in Prithviraj's Kaduva one of the villains is a Christian priest who molests a girl. His superiors let him go free because his brother is a powerful politician and it's up to the hero to deal with him. Bollywood yes.Any powerful established religious order anywhere gets criticized.Just like it's the powerful businessman or zamindar who's the villain. It's not personal. In Bollywood it happens to be Hinduism. In Hollywood it's Christians. And so on.

I don't know why they got it removed.

In the next movie they could have shown a Muslim girl falling in love with a Hindu guy, wearing sindur, eating pork and talking about Muhammad Aisha in the spirit of equality, secularism, tolerance and FOE smiley14

Muslims are shown as terrorists and villain all the time. Animal movie did not watch it but the bad guy is muslim how shocking. ranveer played a negative character who is gay again muslim guy in PV. It's okay if muslims are terrorists, rapist, alcoholic and criminals in the movies because it matches the agenda that news and everywhere they are carrying for muslims to be right? so every movie we show the bad people as muslim and it's okay.

There are countless no of movies where Hindu or other regions person shown as a villain. From mother india, maine pyar Kiya,Dil, sholay, Singham, Haider, Mai hu na, any many many more.

But issue here is they they said controversial thing about one God and religion. Which they always avoided for other religions.

Very sad that Netflix buckled under pressure and removed the film. Hope there's enough of an outcry to bring it back. The premise sounds interesting from what I read on here and I'd like to give it a watch. Maybe they're waiting for the controversy to die down before returning it to the service.

I hope people know the difference between showing a person belonging to a particular religion as a villain in a movie ( most of the villains in any movie industry in Indian be it Bollywood or South are Hindus. Some of them are shown as devout , like in Karan Arjun. ) , and showing an entire religion and it's God in a bad light and speaking ill about it in a movie. The movie crew were clearly on a negative agenda. Unfortunately this happens only for a particular religion and not in any other religion. They won't dare.

This film reeks of intolerance. It shouldn't even have existed and people have problem with it being removed ?? It just brings into picture the sad state of affairs in our country.

Problem with Hindus, they are wayy too much tolerant. Netflix wouldn't have dared to make this kind of movie for the other religion and release it any Muslim country, will they ?? They won't even think about it, because they know the government will ban not only the movie but Netflix itself.

Ponder and wonder.
