I know you guys are being funny trying to guess what he was thinking but if it was a genuine doubt then I would like to share what I felt. Armaan was 100% thinking about Abhira and his own relationship. On a less serious note he might be getting scared what if Abhira develops attachment with him and decides not to leave him. In that case how can he reunite with his soulmate.

Seriously I too thought that she will not spare Ruhi if she keeps on shouting at Armaan. If Abhira did not spare the person ( Rohit) who is Armaan’s most loved , then Ruhi ki to khair hi nehi.
