It was such an amazing episode but ek hi complaint hai everyone who performed today got gift or shown so why didn’t they show for Deepan. Other than that there were happy moments, emotional moments and funny moments you can say a complete package. My favorite performances are as in this order

Ananya, Shubhadeep, Obom and Deepan how I mean how does she do it every time yaar. Most consistent female contestant of this season. It was so nice to see her grandparents and mama it was a sweet emotional moment and new year ka use bada gift kuch nai hosakta.

Shubhadeep he sang ae ajanabi one of my favorite song and tu chiz badi hai mast. He did full justice to both the songs really enjoyed. His gift and moment was so funny.

Next would be Obom he is really doing well. Ruk jaa oh dill deewane and main nikala is not his type of songs and it’s good to see him singing them and he did justice to them. It was nice to see his father AV and his father sang the song that he had dedicated to his father. I can understand on Obom not able to talk to his family because of the network issue I have gone through similar. My sister recently went to India and was on Arunachal and the network over there is pretty bad there were so many days we were not able to talk to each other properly so I can totally understand how he felt after seeing his father in AV. Also moment between him and Utkarsh was sweet so nice to see their friendship and bond.

Deepan he sang Main yahaa hoon and Jadu Teri nazar and loved both of them especially the first one he was so good.

Menuka and Adya did fine too but somehow they didn’t have that effect on their performances to me which above four people had. Overall amazing episode.

I enjoy watching Udit Narayan and Kumar Sanu together, they’re a lot of fun. Also, to hear two of bollywoods best singers together is icing on the cake.

Naturally we had a lot of 1990’s and early 2000’s songs, which are songs I’ve grown up listening to, so I was bound to enjoy the episode.

1. Dipan - main yahan hoon and jadoo teri nazar. I didn’t enjoy his first performance as much. He started so well, but somewhere along I just lost interest because he couldn’t hold my attention. He was fantastic with jadoo teri nazar.

2. Shubhojit - aye ajnabi and tu cheez badi hai mast mast - he sang both the songs very well. Aye ajnabi was exceptional. Although he sang tu cheez badi hai mast mast very well, I thought his voice sounds very powerful for this song.

3. Ananya - bairi piya and tip tip barsa pani. She was flawless. I don’t understand how she’s so good with every song. She matched Shreya in bairi piya!! If she doesn’t win, it’ll be injustice (just my opinion).

4. Obom - Ruk ja oh dil deewane/ main nikla gadi leke - I’ve always said he’s a weak singer, but he was good this week. He’s showing a lot of improvement. He sang both songs well but surprised me with main nikla gadi leke. Not in my wildest dreams could I imagine him singing this song. It’s so not his style or something that you’d think would suit him. But he did so well.

5. Adya - tujhe yaad na meri aayi and tere naam - decent performance. I’m not a fan of her voice, but considering that her voice is husky and different she did well. I enjoyed tujhe yaad na meri aayi, this was a good choice.

6. Menuka - na jaane mere dil ko Kya and tum Paas aaye. It was an ok performance. Better than some of her past performances but not wow. I didn’t enjoy na jaane mere dil ko Kya, I thought her pacing was wrong. She sounded nice in Tum Paas aaye, but at a point she did something different that didn’t work for me.


Ananya was the best performance today by a mile.

Saturday's episode UFF! Nostalgia overload.

Santa Narayan is a legend.

Udit and Sanu da together, cracking jokes together, singing together, dancing together was such a joy to watch. These two legends together are iconic to the max degree. If I ever reach their age, I can only hope to have anywhere near the energy that they do.

Shreya was fangirling throughout the episode and who can blame her honestly? She not only grew up listening to these two, she worked with them and reveres them. Same with Vishal but not to the same degree. The vibes were so good in this episode.

The performers got dwarfed today, but they deserved to be talked about too, since most of them showed up and did well.

Dipan's second song was better than his first. Main Yaha Hoon is a classic, and he started it well. But as he went on, it felt like the song wasn't in his element. Jadoo Teri Nazar fits him better and he did a great job with that one.

Subhodeep was the opposite of Dipan. His first song was delivered perfectly, but Tu Cheez Bari was a bit out there. Still very good, but not the same.

Ananya feels like the frontrunner to possibly win the show. She might be the most consistent contender on the show, she has the emotional backstory that can make people gravitate towards her and root for her, and then her nana's appearance and backstory today. Wouldn't be mad at all to be honest.

Ananya's shift in mood and tone when Udit ji got on stage was cute and hilarious. She was so nervous and take aback. What an honor it must be to sing with him and then Shreya too.

Bhaire Piya being sung by Udit and Shreya live was a very feel good moment.

Obom tried, but sadly, he showed again that he's a limited singer. Both of his songs did not fit his voice at all. The effort was there though.

I'm pretty sure Udit ji can nail Main Nikla Gaddi Leke for the rest of time.

Adya did good. She knows she's lucky the judges are so nice, and that they are the only reason why she's still here. Not her best day but still good for the most part.

Menuka was mostly good once again. Also not her best day, but she was soothing to listen to as always. The moment with her and Udit ji was wholesome.

The ending was great. I will never, ever get tired of Udit and Sanu da singing together. How lucky we all are to have had them sing so many legendary songs, both together and with others. Jodi ho toh aisi.

Tomorrow should be fun. A bit wild and maybe offputting at parts, but mostly fun. Hans Raj Hans making an appearance will be interesting. But today's episode was special and mostly great.

Totally enjoyed the episode. It was a treat to watch Udit Narayan & Kumar Sanu together. Alka Yagnik was definitely missed but at the same time I am glad she didn't come. I really want these music TV shows to do a solo Alka Yagnik Special episode, not a 90's Special or Alka-Udit or Alka-Sanu Special.

Performance wise everyone did well with Ananya being the best, followed by Shubhodeep.

I wholeheartedly enjoy today's episode. I am wonderful to see Udit Narayan & Kumar Sanu together. Alka Yagnik was definitely missed but nonetheless, with the two iconic singers from the 80's and 90's was a real treat!

Performance wise, everyone did amazing well with Ananya, Menuka & Shubhodeep being the best followed by Dipan and Obom were great, too. Adya, however, was decent, but not great!

Hello everyone, this is my first time commenting in this forum although I have been appreciating the reviews and discussions since quite some time...

Really enjoying this season of the show. All contestants have their own uniqueness and charm in singing, though my favorites are Subhadeep, Utkarsh, Piyush, Ananya and Muskaan.

Yesterday's episode left me especially amazed at Subhadeep's vocal range and depth of singing! Two songs of such different genres..both needing tremendous breath control.. and singing them in the same flow... Just awesome!

Hope Muskaan gets to show her potential fully. I somehow feel that she is not getting enough opportunity to do so..

Over this long weekend I have been listening to several earlier episodes of II 14 and also watched today's episode.

My general observations:

Obom, Utkarsh and Panwar seemed strong among the male contestants

Ananya, Menuka strong among the female contestants

Anjana seems to have been forcefully bucketed in the "SMP" role - improvising songs and giving them a new style. Only thing is that with SMP there was an amount of novelty at that time because it hadn't been done to that extent before. Now it doesn't seem fresh but forced.

Most female contestants sound a little too sweet for my ear. Very good technically and great voices too - but just a little more sweetness than desired. Like adding artificial sweetener.

Above all, this season is worth watching only for Shreya Ghoshal. My word! Is she blessed or what! It is simple unbelievable when she gets the mic in her hand. It is just magic. I remember seeing an interview of hers (I think with Koel Puri) where she was asked to sing Lag Jaa Gale and the interviewer just started sobbing on hearing her. I can totally relate to that. We are lucky to live in her era!
