What good will revenge do? He already lost a good part of his life. Why lose more?

Maja did not recognize him and he is disappointed. His face has changed, so its not likely to jump out at her. What was he hoping for? That she would recognize some other traits?

He said his own name to get a reaction out of Maja. Wasn't a very positive one.

Is he trying to prove to himself that Maja is fickle? She wanted Marco all along, so why would she fall for him?

If Maja is getting affected, so is he. He might succeed in hurting Maja but might also get himself hurt all over again
