Not just plain old bad parenting

What makes me especially angry is that CA isn't just another child (not that any child deserves to be treated this way)...

CA is an especially vulnerable child who has experienced a lot of trauma in the past.

She has been first abandoned and then adopted and removed from her friends, promised many things, betrayed and deserted repeatedly, watched her biological mother and adoptive parents fight using her as a pawn, weathered the death of her biological mother, run away from home and been brought back, ill-treated by various family members, ignored by her own parents, etc. There is no consistency, dependability or maturity in any adult in her life.

Her adoptive parents don't give her affection or attention consistently and don't seem to understand that this little being was hurt to the point of hospitalization when she had night terrors, fainting fits and other medical issues related to Maya's death and Anupamaa's abandonment. Everyone including her new grandmother uses her for their own benefit.

But Anupamaa gets to keep implying to everyone that she's the best mother in the universe?! What rotten, short-sighted and self-centred parenting!
