The tasting episode was such a waste. They were zabardasti finding faults or words to praise contestants.
1. Nambi - I am still in shock as to how a pate could be declared a winning dish. Never in my right mind would I order it in a restaurant. Anyway her dish lacked any colour. It was all brown (I know she added some pickle and something). Her sob story was probably most heart touching and that’s why she won it. I mean what was that stupid dialogue when it was her and Rukhsaar that you’ll are both kind and some shit like that 🤷♀️
2. Rukhsaar - her dish did look good and her elements quite interesting, but then I really like pana cotta. I’m not sure she had a great presentation even if chef Saransh plated it. Her dish may have been fantastic but the judges were literally praising her dish more than Nambis. Why then didn’t Rukhsaar win it? Something strange. Also, I notice that Bikas never gives a spoon drop easily, for me if a dish is being praised so much it deserved the spoon drop from Vikas. Since that didn’t happen, it was a good dish but not as much as they made it sound.
3. Aashiq - very good looking dish. I’m bored of him making prawns all the time. I get it that he wants to open a seafood restaurant but there’s fish, octopus, crab, squid, mussels he can use. So that was already a turn off for me. So his dish was initially praised and then chef Ranveer started nitpicking. I get that it may have had faults, but a lot of comments seemed forced. Did anyone notice Vikas and Pooja didn’t have a problem with garlic in the coconut mayo until Ranveer pointed it out.
4. Nidhi - guchi musalam with stuffed pulao. Where was the musalam masala, could see nothing on the guchi. Also morrels don’t have enough space to stuff carbohydrates (because you need more quantity of carbs). A nut sauce? I use it all the time to thicken my gravies or make my dish taste nicer, or just because I ran out of ideas. How was it pahadi? Also serving roasted nuts on the plate was kind of dumb. I actually was confused because nuts like that on dessert is fine, but or mains? Also a guchi pulao was served last year by Deepa. But of course her dish was praised to the skies. The judges sense and sensibilities baffle me.
5. Suraj - Bomb Alaska. We’ve see. This before on masterchef. Not easy to make or assemble. So I think he did a good job. His dish looked and sounded good. How many times was he asked if it was a French or Italian merengue? It was evident that they wanted to nitpick. Just talk about the flavours right, how does it matter how he made it. Do we go to restaurants and ask what merengue they’re serving us?
6. Harry - Gen Z dosa platter - were those dosas or uthappams? I think Harry bit off more than he could chew. Also looking at how thick his dosas were I don’t think he can really make dosas. Hai plating of course left a lot to be desired. So I better not say anything. For once I agreed with the judges.
Liked most people I’m surprised at this stage they make things like pulao, dosa. I’m now trying to think of a sob story to participate next time. Anybody want to help come up with a sob story?
