Vicky Kaushal WILL NOT be a part of Dhurandhar 2; reports debunked

After days of loud chatter on social media, reports linking Vicky Kaushal to Dhurandhar 2 have finally been put to rest. While fans were busy decoding cinematic clues and celebrating a possible crossover with Uri: The Surgical Strike, a fresh Bollywood Hungama report has clearly stated that there is no truth to these claims.

However, Bollywood Hungama has now clarified that these reports are completely false. Quoting a source very close to director Aditya Dhar, the publication stated that neither Vicky Kaushal nor Uri has any connection to Dhurandhar 2. The source dismissed the claims as fan-made speculation and expressed concern over such assumptions being reported as facts.

How the Vicky Kaushal Cameo Rumours Began

The buzz started when online reports suggested that Vicky Kaushal would make a special appearance in Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar 2, reprising his popular Uri character, Major Vihaan Shergill. The speculation gained momentum after fans pointed out a supposed link between Uri and Dhurandhar, which stars Ranveer Singh in the lead.

Adding fuel to the fire were claims that Dhurandhar 2, reportedly titled Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge, would expand the universe introduced in the first film. With the sequel already generating excitement, the idea of Vicky stepping in for an extended cameo felt believable to many. Social media theories soon turned into “reports,” and the rumour mill went into overdrive.

Uri–Dhurandhar Connection That Sparked Fan Theories

The crossover talk largely stemmed from a dialogue connection. In Dhurandhar, Ranveer Singh’s character Hamza Ali Mazari is later revealed to be Jaskirat Singh Rangi, an Indian agent operating undercover in Karachi. Fans were quick to recall a scene from Uri: The Surgical Strike where Kirti Kulhari’s character mentions her late husband, Captain Jaskirat Singh Rangi, who was martyred during an ambush.

This shared name led many to believe the two films exist in the same universe, and that Dhurandhar 2 might bring Major Vihaan Shergill into the storyline. Screenshots, reels, and theory threads went viral, giving the rumour a life of its own.

Meanwhile, Dhurandhar 2 continues to move ahead as planned. The CBFC recently cleared its first teaser with an A certificate, clocking in at 1 minute and 48 seconds. The film is slated for a theatrical release on March 19.
