Vanupapa- Full Story Summary

Vanraj is a devoted husband, father, and son. He has a family-oriented and self-sacrificing nature. Time and again, He is humiliated for being a mere husband and for having an incomplete degree and education.

Vanraj’s wife, Anupamaa Shah has been having an affair with her college friend, Anuj Kapadia for the past 8 years. Despite being warned by his mother, Baa, and Anuj’s sister in law, Barkha, he refuses to believe it and expresses his faith in Anupamaa. On his 25th Wedding Anniversary, when Vanraj sees Anupamaa and Anuj getting intimate, he is left shattered and breaks ties with Anupamaa and decides to live his life on his terms.

Soon after the EMA revelation and Vanraj, Anupamaa’s divorce, Anupamaa feels very guilty for cheating on her faithful partner and decides to stay in his house and dedicate herself as his unpaid maid for life. She also informs him that she only loves him and only got intimate with the businessman Anuj to use him for his money in order to provide for him and the Shah’s.

Anupamaa then lives as Vanraj’s loving wife while living in an unhappy marriage with Anuj to merely use him to fulfil her and her family’s needs.

They should have shown this from the outset itself instead of changing track midway and attempting to show it discreetly
