Briaahna, it is very clear that action movies aren't 'your' genre...and I guess, you're in good company with all those who love SRK in movies of other genres.

My knowledge of action movies isn't as vast as other genres, but if Hollywood-used Western reviewers and Hollywood action specialists laud Jawan the way they did and recommended the way action had been represented, I tend to believe them, especially when it wasn't SRK they focussed on.

I knew that, one day, SRK would try to fulfill his dream of doing out-and-out action movies - with giving them nevertheless his 'stamp of thinking' inside the story.

He did it...with Pathaan focussing on another subject than he did in Jawan.

I easily can do with the stylised violence, the logic-defying stunts and a ShahRukh made younger, that is cinematic entertainment belonging to what is made possible through technics nowadays.

But both movies have a content that has nothing to do with action...and that's the part I find magically put on screen.

As for SRK's performances...they are as nuanced as in movies named in lists here (but one may not notice with one watch).

don't care about hollywood westerners reviews...I found both Pathaan and Jawaan content average at best. yes they were entertainers, but didn't hit me hard. the women were wasted in jawaan; compare it to women in chak de india with shah..such impact! shah performed well in both movie, but nothing extraordinary. keeping fingers crossed for Dunki, i feel its the performance of shah that will be the highlight. Lets see.

First time (for me) you are nailing it ji! Pathaan in particular was downright awful.

And that's okay, isn't it...there will be more movies you may dislike or judging as "downright awful", right?

To me, it's nothing special that a movie has an acceptance level that ranges from 0 to 10 because the perception is individual. What I find important is a judgement after a personal viewing and not because of other people's impressions/opinions.

But they did and do...at least read the thread you post in...

That's nice. I know you're not talking about me, because my opinions are mine because they are based on my own cognitive functioning ability.

I’m not a fan and I won’t comment whether I liked his recent films, the only thing I wanna say is I absolutely disliked his look in Pathan, it felt like he didn’t shower for days, I really hope SRK does not repeat the look, it doesn’t suit him please smiley19
