Other actresses yes even someone as successful as Deepika have to choose wisely and yes most times safe coz they need to survive the tough world of Bollywood.

KJo might not be the ultimate film fate guru; otherwise, he wouldn't have those flops on his own filmography. Deepika's been in the game for ages, so she's got a good sense of what works for her, just like KJo or Alia. And, I'm sure she's got a whole team crafting and looking out for her movies. She's not an underdog and a weakling as many are portraying her to be.

Personally, I've always preferred Deepika's filmography to Alia's and I enjoy Deepika much much better than Alia on screen but I'm not really digging her recent movie choices. It feels more like something Katrina Kaif should be doing , the whole flowerpot in big action movies.

Not sure if it is from her shrewdness or sheer dumb luck, but Deeps somehow manages to turn disadvantages into advantages. After the number RK's coterie tried to do on her, she used the broken-heart image to the hilt. He got slammed, and she got the sympathy.

She's prob the one female actor who can fit into Rohit Shetty cop universe, and I don't mean that as a compliment.smiley36 But if it works, DP is staying put in #1 position for a couple of years at least. She'll at least 40 by the time she leaves. An achievement for a BW female actor to be sure.

I think she's just making a quick appearance in this Singham. Her character's probably gonna get the full spotlight in the next one. That will take some time I think. Movies can easily end up on the shelf, so I'm not holding my breath. But the idea of a female cop movie by Rohit Shetty does sound interesting. It could give her career a fresh spin, or knowing Rohit, it might just turn into a Cirkus.

You are right. Interestingly, the notion of a "married actress curse" appears to have faded, with married actresses now skillfully balancing their personal and professional lives. Deepika could embrace this new landscape and venture into more audacious roles, as there seems to be no compelling reason for her to play it safe in today's Bollywood.

Unless - and I feel this be a big reason - she is scarred by Chapaak's non-performance. That was her first pouting as a solo lead without any male backup.

Gehraiyan got her positive reviews and was the most-watched movie on OTT at that time.

Somehow, I haven't a good feeling about this movie...

Project K is going to be postponed, they haven't released the new date yet. 100% it will not come in January.

Not that I'm a fan but her roles haven't really been flowerpots in action movies. Pathaan was very cliche, every single character, but in Jawan Deepika had the strongest/most emotional part of the lot including SRK. She keeps doing multistarrers though.
