I guess, Abhishek is more judged here relative to his movies than relative to the person he is.

Btw. with a father like Amitji and a mother who once wanted to divorce his dad and a sister who never got the chance to make her life on her own terms...what chance do you think he got to get the self-confidence needed to not bother about his father's position in the filmindustry (especially when knowing how he was/is as the private person).

As for Aish...Salman was her first choice...the second one (no chance)...the third (not seriously interested)...the fourth one at least gave her a good name and a gentleman as husband. She has never been a reason for Abhishek to not make it really big...like for Salman: look at the father and then one may understand the son...

Who was the second one? If Vivek then who was the third one?

SRK ...in Vivek she hadn't really an interest...he was good to 'rescue' her...

SRK? Where did the idea of Ash and SRK came from?

Why are people spreading false claims that SRK and Aish were romantically involved?

So Abhishek is the reasons she's not acting more ?

Someone in another thread said Aish was the original lead for Happy New Year. When Abhishek came onto the film as a supporting actor, Aish had to drop because it would look bad if the wife is the lead heroine and Abhishek is in a side role. He cost her a blockbuster film and a reunion with SRK. It was more important to salvage his film career as a side hero than to have Aish consistently be a lead actress.

When and where was this ( the bold) even written/said??? ... I did not read or heard something like that.

So who was spreading this (as "people" is quite vague)?

It was you who said that Aish had four choices. Salman, then unspecified second and third, and finally Abhishek. Either second or third was obviously Vivek but why drag SRK in that role? He has never been romantically involved with Aish like the other three...this sounds like drunk Salman who claimed SRK and Aish were having an affair on Chalte Chalte.

But did Happy New Year really change anyone’s fortunes.

Aish was very much smitten by SRK but ... but... he was just as nice as he was with other actresses...until he couldn't be nice anymore to not risk the result of a movie he needed to happen without having to face a drunken and jealous Salman...

Instead of doing movies with her boyfriend, she did movies with SRK...and both made a good pairing (on screen).

It certainly did not change Abhishek's fortune. But who is to say that this film could not have had a huge impact on Aish's career? Perhaps Aishwarya could have gotten Deepika's roles in Pathan and Jawan based on her performance with SRK in Happy New Year. Now we will never know and the blame lies entirely with Abhishek.
