Aishwarya Rai did speak about her abuse and even said the chapter in her life with Salman was a nightmare. Her breakup with him cost her many roles and she got dropped from films because nobody wanted to deal with Salman and her situation. How she handled it and what she endured was her own personal problem.

If Vivek was going to act like a knight in shining armour, then regardless of whether she was with him or not, he chose to speak out against him when he thought it would be in his favour, but the moment it backfired and he didn’t get the girl, he went on to apologise. I would also like to add that Aishwarya never wanted him to go on air about her personal problems but he still went ahead because he wanted to be a hero.

That’s my definition of spineless and whether you think Aishwarya was double spineless or not, that’s your own personal opinion. It ain’t changing mine.

I support Aish because she seems to be good human and actually had the strength to stand up to vile excuse for a boyfriend.

No, absolutely not. He would not hinder Aish to work in movies, as an actress, in whatever movie she wants...

I guess, Abhishek is more judged here relative to his movies than relative to the person he is.

Btw. with a father like Amitji and a mother who once wanted to divorce his dad and a sister who never got the chance to make her life on her own terms...what chance do you think he got to get the self-confidence needed to not bother about his father's position in the filmindustry (especially when knowing how he was/is as the private person).

As for Aish...Salman was her first choice...the second one (no chance)...the third (not seriously interested)...the fourth one at least gave her a good name and a gentleman as husband. She has never been a reason for Abhishek to not make it really big...like for Salman: look at the father and then one may understand the son...

Btw Vivek didn’t apologize right away it took him a good 3-4 years to do so. He was left high and dry after taking such a huge step for Ash. I get it she probably didnt want him to do that but he did it out of love for her, too bad she couldn’t see that. The guy was ostracized from the industry, lost his career and didnt even get the girl so why should he not apologize and end that chapter of his life.

By apologising to the perpetrator, he undermines what the victim has gone through. I would never apologise to a criminal no matter the situation. His career and the opinion of the industry might matter to him but the moment he apologised, he spat on his own face for all the false bravado he showed during the press conference. I’ll never respect him for it no matter his situation.

In an ideal world, the industry should have ostracised Salman but they didn't. Instead, Vivek lost his career, reputation and girlfriend. Aishwarya though a victim could have dealt with Vivek better. Vivek did it out of concern for her and did not have ill intentions for her, even though it backfired. Vivek is better than criminal Salman any day. Sometimes in the industry/ at work, you must apologise even if you are correct.

The press conference was all about him beating his chest and showing off his “strength” and “bravery”. He was coming off of a few successful movies so was probably being a bit cocky and was also trying to show off that he was dating Aishwarya Rai. And Aishwarya didn’t dump him after the press conference. She dumped him because he couldn’t shut up about them dating. He actually caused many headlines when said he was gonna marry Aishwarya Rai only to back peddle a few days later and say that what he meant was that he would like to marry someone like Aishwarya Rai. I wonder what kind of conversation Ash had with him in those few days. Shortly after that rumors of their break up started. And he only apologized for the press conference after it became clear that Ash was dating Abhishek and he knew he lost all chances with her. Suddenly he went on a “let me kiss Salman’s a$$” tour which lasted a few years. Till he got married I think.

I think by all accounts he’s calmed down a lot and seems very happy in his personal life now. He’s moved on (inappropriate tweeting of Aishwarya memes notwithstanding 🙄) and is basically minding his own business now. But he was no hero to Ash.
