Centuries by Mehidy Hasan and Shanto have powered Bangladesh to a massive first innings total of 334/5. Naim got Bangladesh off to a brisk start, however, the southpaw departed after playing a cameo. Hridoy was dismissed for a duck, however, what followed next was an excellent partnership between Shanto and Miraz. Both the batters notched up their respective centuries in the process and helped their team set such a daunting total. Mushfiq and Shakib chipped in with lovely cameos towards the end and took the team beyond the 330-run mark. Not a great day for Afghanistan bowlers as most of them proved to be expensive. Najmul Hossain Shanto: This hundred I dedicate it to my son. We weren't worried about the two wickets, we played according to the situation and the merit of the ball. It's a good tournament, it's a challenging tournament, and that helped me a lot. It helps us to play international cricket as many foreign players are a part of it. The dressing room is good, we are lucky to play with legends like Mushfiq and Shakib. Miraz showed his character and batted really well. The pitch looks good, but we have a quality bowling attack, if we bowl to our strengths I think we can win this match.
