I firmly detest him hitting Pakhi, but wasn't she the one who was constantly fawning over him when he wanted her to leave. He said he doesn't wanna patch up and was rude to her, then when she forced him to put on an act in front of the family at Kavya Baby shower, he slapped her for the constant pestering and ordered her to leave, then when she tried to join the business he started blaming her for his career downfall only when she voluntarily came in front of him to be coochie-cooing and pretend all is good.

Never once whatever happened was without Pakhi's consent. So why is Deviji forcibly pushing in terms like physical exploitation and Adhik forcing himself upon Pakhi and making her do things against her will, when has that ever happened? And even Pakhi making sad puppy faces on this.

There has been more physical aggression done by her beloved Mishter Shah to her and Kavya and her Penthouse addicted son on her Maari Beautiphool but she slipped all of them under the rug in the name of "mutual misunderstandings" and even sent her child abducting son to therapy instead of prison.

Yep, its heights..Anupama is doing so much overthinking in terms of physical abuse.

Never once.Adhik.has shown such tendency..however one more topic to get addressed in the show through Adhik Pakhi..

Couple was really nice with all relevant problems in today's couples .one.person working /one doing all work getting frustrated..but converted to show couple as usual..

Sorry why is there a "buuuut Pakhi did xyz to annoy Adhik"? If he slapped her then he is an abuser, and Anupama is right to make ruckus about it like Rakhi was justified in wrecking havoc on Toshu.

The problem with this show is that Anupamaa has a dissonance about other instances of abuse perpetrated in her own family, including the fact that she herself slapped her DIL last week. That needs to be called out.

Also, because the writing of this show is so bad that it is easily forgotten that Adhik was intially shown to groom a much younger Pakhi to claim a stake in Anuj's property. Then he turned into a cornered-by-his-immature-barely-legal-wife-goodie two-shoes, and now he has been randomly turned into a wifebeater. But their relationship was always problematic from the start

Beating your wife spouse is not at all acceptable. Adhik needs to be reported, Pakhi should give him a shutup call and either seek divorce, seperation or atleast couple's counseling if she still doesn't want the former two. And I think she was giving it back to him verbally until it was discovered and now she is a full-on victim. She was even about to slap him back before Adhik saved himself by cleverly acting in front of Leela.

My problem is not that the beating is being called out, my problem is with unnecessary new "words" like non-consensual physical exploitation are being included here to spice things up so that audiences can be convinced in a dumbed down way that Adhik is a bad guy.

Why can't just slapping be enough?

Why does Anupamaa have to manifest Adhik as an ultimate demon and Pakhi to be a properly tortured bechari for a seperation which will only happen after Adhik crosses all limits?

I specified the situations which led to Adhik hitting Pakhi because, he beat her, YES, but he was not doing any non-consensual shareerik shoshan so why is Anupamaa blaming him for it? And if Adhik beat once he will beat again is the logic, why wasn't the same logic applied that if Toshu cheated once he will cheat again?

The message should have been that hitting your wife spouse is not okay even if you are a good person, but since MAA had slapped Dimpy a few days ago and could not have called out just slapping by Adhik, hence the writers pour in more stuff "just for sensationalism"

And I mean, no one is consenting here to be slapped by their spouse. Domestic abuse, by its very definition, is non-consensual. I am not talking of consensual kinks here so that is not a factor in my assessment of the show. Adhik is a monster because he slapped his spouse aka his wife. Pakhi did not consent to be slapped. People wishing to salvage their abusive relationships is not consent to be abused. That literally is the product of trauma and abuse.

Anupamaa spiralling about sexual violence, realistically, is not out of the ambit of possiblity. At least, this is not a new thing for the show.

But still don't see how Adhik's abuse need to be framed in relation to Pakhi's actions? Like you said, hitting a spouse is not okay— that includes toxic spouses if Pakhi was one. It's not like Pakhi forced a man waaaaay older than her to stay in 'toxic marriage' that he didn't want?

If they are both mutually abusive, then that is what they are. But that alone doesn't cancel out the abuse perpetrated by Adhik.

Also adultery and abuse are not comparable things. It is completely another matter that Toshu is just a toxic ass, emotionally abusive person even sans the EMA, and Anupamaa's love for Kinjal never extended to asking her to leave her pathetic son.

I mean even slapping should have been sufficient to take the case ahead, but every thing needs to be dramatized to a huge extent to show that MAA is right to want to "punish" someone. Social media sting operation to expose harassment at work, Blackout anshan for r*pe perpetrators, Bangle clanking to accept a prostitute in your "circle" and planning outrageous festivals to forget the fight that happened a day ago, only to ruin that as well with more drama.
