Welcome to Discussion of Week

Last Friday was sort of a family reunion for all the families. Where female contestants' parents and/or sibling were invited. It was a nice gesture by zee.

Most invitees danced with their family and did a great job at dancing and so did Roy family.

But since this is being family show. some how it looked odd the way mr. roy was dancing with his sali who happened to be his younger brother's wife. Also his brother too were dacing with his sali similar way carrying her around. May be I am old fashioned and did not feel comfortable seeing that. I felt they were dancing in manner to earn popularity and show ppl how close they are. Also his sali called him and joked pretnding to be his girl friend. I questioned myself are Indian ppl becoming too open or westernized or it is just a Roy family?

Plz be careful in wording we can not say anything about them that might become abusive. We are not here to judge any one's character Just express how do you feel seeing them dancing and their behavior on stage.

well i for one agree with you raksha di. when they are performing it doesnt really matter to me how they dance with each other.

but their behaviour towards each other after the performance...especially the family reunion show, kinda made me feel uncomfortable. sure they are a close family but it just seemed weird to me they way mr roy was with his saali and picking her up and twirling her around etc.

like you said, maybe i too am old fashioned but i was weirded out by them.

I dont think they did that for popularity, as knowing the indians and how they will react to that, it will be poor popularity and lesser votes for them, and so they will only avoid that by all means. I believe that not only they are a close knit family but also when Mr. Roy gets into the mood of dancing, he forgets everything else - he doesnt notice who is who and he just wants to go with the beat or music at the time. His wife being shy and hesitant to dance, he just dances with the person who is joining in...

After all, it's all in the minds of people, and the perceptions we have and make. I know enough people who pretends to be extremely traditional yet totally untraditional and immoral behind the curtains. And vice versa, where people appearing to be very modern in thinking being hard core traditional at the bottom of their hearts... If one's mind is filthy, it doesnt matter how he or she acts in front of others, and if one's mind is pure, his or her actions should not be misjudged. I know it's easier said than done, but I do believe it.
