The 90s were honestly the most innovative times for Indian music.
We had a variety of genres, ranging from classical raagas inspired to westernized melodies to catchy dance numbers.
Sure each decade has had bad songs. But the 90s were the revival of mainstream Indian music.
The 90s were also the blueprint for creating songs that could be sung by anyone, even those who aren't vocally gifted. Any composition from the 50s to 70s had so many harkatein and "jagahs" that not everyone could hum it.
