The Office (hindi version) on Hotstar is pretty good. I went in with zero, scratch that, rock bottom expectations because I felt it would be a bad imitation of the US version. But I'm glad to admit that I was wrong.

It's written very well. The main plot and even the episodes are most of all very similar. But it's well adapted to Indian sensibilities and humour. There are actually many improvements over the original, if you ask me. Sapan Gill (indian Ryan) is a vast improvement. The actor is infinitely funnier and plays it fantastically. Chadha (indian Michael Scott) is a hit and miss. But there is sincerity, cringe, hilarity in equal parts. Gauhar Khan as Jan is also very well cast. Also Anjali (Indian Angela) is sooo good. Whoever the actress is, she fits the character to T.

Indian Jim and Pam have an innocence to them just like the original that is so wonderful. It's also very refreshing to see some North eastern representation atleast on OTT through Rinchin, who plays the indian Oscar. Indian Kevin is a Mallu guy with a p*rn obsession lmao.

Honestly, these actors are leaps above the present Bollywood mainstream actors. I wish these talented actors could transition to Bollywood someday.

Anybody watched it here? Thoughts?

Oh and Indian Kelly is that annoying ass Mallika Dua. She is a torture on the ears. Kelly is supposed to be annoying but this one is duguna.

It's passable. Not as bad as the reviews online say. Garbage but recyclable garbage 😆

The OG is up there. I think even the British didn't think the US version would surpass them. But the Indian version is not complete garbage either. If you haven't watched, you aren't missing big though.
