@red Taking care & following blindly are two diff things. First is what every child (boy or girl) must do for their parents. Second is what one shouldn't do for anyone!

If a mother decides who the son should marry (when AB proposed AR but did dola re dola with AK) ; who the son should engage the second time (get married for Ruhi's sake) ; if custody should be fought.... and the son nods to everything despite his heart being not there.. just bcos mother will faint or bcos she has a huge backlog of pain... is defo unhealthy codependency.

Lastly, AB is a bad husband due to his negative traits. No denying AK has her weaknesses as well and has made fair share of mistakes.

But unlike AB, if AK outwardly stated that their marriage felt like life imprisonment to her, then she actually moved on & chose another man.. Which isn't the case with AB..

If AK is so bad then he should be glad to get rid of him but he keeps running after her despite her being as you mentioned impulsive, unthoughtful and uncaring.

Mother didn’t decide who the son should marry. To begin with it was misunderstanding. If Abhi was blindly following his mother, he would have gone ahead with the engagement with Ar in first place, but he didn’t and called out the misunderstanding. Abhi did dola re dola? He clearly advised Ak to not take up music therapy job at Birla hospital because it will affect them all. But she still took it. Why? Was that the only job left in the city? Why was she so desperate to take up that job? sorry but Ak did dola ra dola. As regards to after leap events, Manjiri told Abhi to marry Ar, but Abhi clearly refused many times. And the only reason he agreed was because of Ruhi’s insistence - though I do not endorse this, but clearly it was not Abhi blindly following Manjiri. The whole custody fiasco was Goenka’s doing, started first by Kairav by sending restraining orders and then by Bade papa by stopping Abhi-AbhiN-Ak from telling Abhir anything and then starting custody with conditions.

At every point, Manjiri has advised Abhi as any mother should do, and Abhi has listened to her, considered her advise but then has taken actions based on his judgment. He has called her out when her actions were unreasonable, however he has done that respectfully. How is that an unhealthy relationship/codependency between mother and son.

Akshara accused their marriage after second leap and solely due to WD. Did she say that when they were together? If he was a bad abusive husband, why didn’t she get those “life imprisonment” feelings or express that when they together.

I agree Ak is poison for Abhi, a sweet poison albeit. He unfortunately fell in love with such a selfish but wants to be mahan kind of woman. But love is blind, and he followed his heart and ran behind her. The biggest mistake of his life, which I hope he sees, rectifies and moves on. 🙏🏻

Bruh, the justification for him getting engaged to Arohi for the first time, going through all the premarital functions with her, then faking a suicide to get her sister to "confess her feelings" and stranding her at the altar being he— a surgeon— got manipulated, cornered by Arohi— a med student is so laughable.

At no point did he — an adult— feel like telling his younger fiancé :

"hey, pal, you know I sent rishta for your sister and am physically, emotionally attracted to her. This very public engagement, mehendi, haldi are a terrible idea; let's stop it before it goes to the altar, and I fake a suicide to emotionally manipulate your sister to change her 'no' into a 'yes'. Because, you know, these things have social implications for you as a woman who is not only younger to me in age but also junior to me in the professional space."

Only this mother-son relationshio is precious. A six y/o should definitely be sensible enough to know the nuance of how his wish to live with his parents might hurt the feelingz of an adult of x years. Such a selfish kid he is! See how Ruhi cares for the said adult despite him going MIA from her life without an explanation just a couple of months ago!

Lol. I hope this is sarcasm. If not, try reading it again. You don't need to respond. I won't be giving any more credibility to this by reading or replying.

you know when abhimanyu behaved like that with akshara ..it is exactly how he’s behaving now with abhir..he just wants to possess them at any cost..he wants them with him whether they want to be ŵith him or not. And that is not love..it’s obsession.I truly don’t know why they are writing abhimanyu this way..he’s supposed to be the male lead.but he really is an problematic man. He’s very messed up..he’s actually not normal.he needs therapy..I think they have based his character on that movie Kabir Singh. Now in Bollywood it can work as it’s only a 2 hour movie..so a messed up man can be the male lead as the movie ends after 2 hours and ŵe don’t see how this messed up man navigates through his whole life with the other characters..but on itv it’s months or years that we have to deal with the male lead..and a toxic unstable male lead is hard to handle..Virat was toxic in ghum but he wasn’t mentally unstable..but. Here abhimanyu is mentally unstable.. if you’re a father and a professional doctor and you are showing your 6 year old son that you are extremely unhappy and can’t handle your life..then you are unstable ..and need to see a psychiatrist . I don’t know how they expect us to accept abhimanyu as the male lead when he’s such a headache to watch onscreen. I just want to scream’’ ‘ go get help man’ ..you’re destroying your child’s happy life 🤦🏻‍♀️

@pink I was referring to the time Abhimanyu proposed Arohi after fire incident. He clearly said he was marrying AR for his mum. He danced 'ranjhana hua mai tera' with her, sat down for ceremonies, but all the while hovered (did dola re dola) around AK..

Was Akshara at fault there? She sure was. But that doesn't take away from Dr. Birla's actions.

Those great conflict scenes regarding career I haven't watched with much interest so am not recalling them accurately.. I will take your word on it.

@green And where's role of Manju in the whole custody fiasco? She was the one who lied & instigated her son that Akshnav took Abhir to Kasauli without informing due to which Abhimanyu landed uninvited in Sharma house.

Then she instigated Abhinav to leave his family for her imaginary happy Abhira family dream.. Her insolence and shamelessness triggered the chain of events.. BP was way out of line in his custody proposal but that doesn't cancel out Manjhari's vile actions.

@red Not always but frequently Manjhari has just manipulated and misguided Abhimanyu.. sometimes by crying, sometimes by fainting, and sometimes by explicit statements.. and he has always (except a handful of times) followed her wish against his heart & better judgement. That's blind following for me.

@blue Abhira are clearly incompatible.. (narrative returning to them despite everything that has transpired bw the two is ridiculous but that's for some other post)...

So coming back, blinded by first love they thought they'll make it work out.. and things kept on piling up until it blew out on WD. Most of the people realize they're in a toxic cycle once they come out of it and experience something better. That seems to be the case with AK. Dr. Birla's reasoning of running behind Akshara till his last breath goes over my head bcos this devdas kinda narrative is beyond me.
